(Okay, yes, that was too blunt.)

Well, considering you didn't give us any specific information to go on, we can't really help very much. There are any number of possible explanations, but I have no idea which one (if any) describes the problem you are having.

1 - Connection speed. If you're on a dial-up connection, uploading anything will take a long time.

2 - File size. If your image file weighs 600kb, it will take a lot longer to process than if it weighed only 50kb. The size of your image file depends on two factors: secondly, its actual size (large pictures require, obviously, larger files), and firstly, the file format you saved the image in. For one, NEVER try to submit a file using the uncompressed "BMP" format (always convert it to PNG, JPG or GIF).

3 - FAC's approval process. Once a submission has been completed, a site staff member must personally review + OK the piece for display in your gallery. Our screening system is designed to be very simple (e.g. "is it right-side up?"), but FAC sees hundreds of submissions every day (especially on weekends), so sometimes things pile up.

Well, here are a few general rules of thumb:

1 - If it's a drawing that you scanned or photoed, save it as a JPG.
2 - If it's a well-done computer artwork (such as a 3D rendering or fully-shaded digital drawing/painting), save it as a JPG.

3 - If it was created from scratch in MS Paint, DO NOT save it as a JPG. Save it as a GIF or PNG instead.
