I just have to say, I suck at drawing poses and hopefully, this teeny bit of advise will help you, even if I'm no art expert.

Okay, if you have any VHS or DVD movies or anything- then chances are, you probably have the case that goes with it! right? and what's on the case? A picture! Usually of a cartoon character. Disney is really easy to do.

What I usually do if I have a pose in mind, I just browse through my video selection and find one with the type of pose I like and- dadadaDA- I try it out on paper! Not by tracing it, but by drawing the body and adding whatever I want to it to make the character I was trying to draw!

So...yeah, if that helps- looking off of anything for that matter (not just movies) like magazines or somthing, ya'know? I dunno, it works for me, though. Surprised

I've found out recently that my poses suck for two reasons: I draw on a slant and my characters are stiff and cold, so they lack dynamics.

Hmmm that sounds like a good idea. What I usually do is look at pictures of my friends and family and find something like pose, expression, or get inspired to draw something similar.

I have my own camera and keep a stock of photos on my hard drive for easy accesss whenever I'm looking for ideas.X3 Jus a suggestion.

I must be the odd man out then since I just think about the character a bit and already have a pose.

Yeah- sometimes I use photos too! /\_/\ Here's one pic that I did where I was actually just copying the pose out of a magazine:
