Yeah, I think that the profil pic option should be disabled as well. It is pointless, and it does annoy when seeing a ton of anime/whatever pics up there. I also agree with someone that posted here- we should have a journal like they do on DA. Make things a lot easier that way.

i hate all those avatar things, you know? like, they make like 20+ and make them in their profile so it looks really big >.<

The "Profile pic" field on a user's profile is to display a [i]single[/i] image at the top of the user's profile page (with large images being automatically resized). Those are only problems if they're offensive.

well i think there should be no limt becuz me i have alot of pic and some peopel do to so we should not have a limt!

The profile field is for fun if nothing else, and we're sorely lacking in the "fun" department around here....

Sorry, but it's [b]because of[/b] people like you that we're discussing a limit on this in the first place. Short blurbs are okay; trying to dress up your FAC user page like some MySpace account is not.

What about shrinking the pics like what has been done to the profile pics? I'm sure it would be better to have 20 small pictures than 20 huge pictures.

Sure, except that doing that is completely up to the user's discretion, and most who spam their profiles with images don't have any discretion.

The complaints aren't about [i]which[/i] pictures users put on their profile (except for the occasional case of clearly inappropriate pics), but more along the lines of [i]how many[/i].

I'll consider adding a limit after I add journal/blog feature so there is a proper place to put them.

Hey, cstdenis, when you say that you're going to add a journal/blog feature, is it going to be like LiveJournal, etc., where you type as much as you want, or like deviantArt, where you fill in the text boxes? Just wonderin'. Wink

Yeah. The pictures on profiles are getting out a hand. I guess a limit would work.

dA's profile fields (favorite music, movie, etc.) have length limits to keep them in check. Journals weren't meant to be limited (but then again, they only take up half the user's page rather than most of it).
