Copyright Material question

Im a really good artist and i really know how to make my favourite characters and im participating in the FanArt Central Logo or Banner campaign. The thing is im not copying characters like DBZ from anywhere but have drawn them in my own style. I repeat its not copied from the anime or anywhere. Can I draw those chars in provided they r chars of other companies but drawn by me in my own style and no copied poses or anything.

For submission to FAC? That is not a problem, users draw their own versions of official characters all the time.

For the logo contest on Brickfish? I don't think it would be much of a problem either, but I really do not know.

Well I did some imaginary guy wearing a headband from Naruto, and that got accepted all right. I just changed the symbol on the headband to create my own symbol. Nothing big. And I have seen entries up there that have anime characters, like Naruto in them, so yeah... it's all right.

You probably recognize a pattern beginning to take shape. Not of the Fibonacci variety either, where said repetitions are woven into the very fabric of nature in some kind of cosmic mathematical coincidence that makes you wonder if there really is a design to everything after all, but more of Grandmother's quilt variety, where said repetition makes you wonder where in the world people can purchase such hideous floral pastel patterns and why they think you'll want to display them in your living room.
