What do you think of Yaoi?

Yaoi is hot, hot, hot, HOT Very Happy

One of the main reasons I watch DNAngel is for the hot yaoi sceans. I say if guys can drool over chicks getting it on why can't we do the same with guys? Does any one know of any series sides DNAngel that are load with tons of shonen ai sweetness?

As long as it not too graphic, it's fine with me. But I've seen some really pretty doujinshis with shonen-ai/small yaoi and they're pretty good.
Oh yeah, and the pairings make a difference too. I only like yaoi with some pairings, otherwise it's no good. Smile

I really just don't get it. I mean, what's the big appeal that has anyone up and for it? I just don't get it.

Sometimes i half think 50% of the people who like it wish they were men and gay. Then i realize how old that sort of thought is (thinking like someone from my fathers time i guess) Why do girls like it so much.

Yeah, guys like girl on girl stuff but they also have a pretty big collection of guy on girl.

And this isn't even real people...

It's kinda hard to explain, personally. I assume it's because the younger generation tends to be more liberal/"free-thinking" than their more conservative elders, and since the idea of homosexuality was pretty much taboo until the last decade or so (and still is, in a lot of places), kids are entertaining the idea of yaoi just to fit in with the "liberal artsy kid generation" stereotype.

If that makes any sense at all, anyway.

I tend to avoid talking to people who act like most of the people in this thread do since I find it incredibly irritating that they'd take an interest in something due it its increased presence in pop culture (especially anime, what the hell). I swear most of these people here haven't even seen real porn, ever. >8l Although I guess part of the heavy interest in anime/manga yaoi is because all characters are idealized and beautiful, or designed to appeal to people. You almost never see an ugly or fat person. :\

Most of the more mature people I know who have an interest in yaoi also have a healthy collection of straight porn, I assure you. :\ Or they've seen some and accepted it, anyway.

See, i consider myself to be pretty liberal as it goes and 100% okay with gays/lesbians. I still can't believe how people are so into the whole yaoi. It's a little weird sometimes, though i'm not against it. I mean, would you thin the people interesting in yaoi are just as interested as regular real life gay porn. Cause i never got that feeling before personally.

Maybe because it's all pretty and the men are made to be beautiful and lets face it, i highly doubt the guys in real life porn are all that great. The guys in real life straight porn sure as hell aren't. Laughing
