Hey guys, thought I'd pop by and ask... Does anyone know any really good historical fiction writers? It's hard to find good books these days, so I'm asking you guys for a bit of help, here.
So far, I read historical fiction by Mary Renault and I've read the first two books in the Boudica Series, by Manda Scott.
Are there any other good authors you know?
Thanks a lot! _________________ |

Historical fiction is like a story based on a point in history; yet the characters be original. |

Oh! I don't really have any recommendations, but I do rather enjoy historical fiction. Although I really don't like reading WW stuff since it tends to be rather melodramatic (and I'm sure the real situation was severe, but really now...) and dull. :\ Or maybe I'm an insensitive bastard, I'm not really sure. XD; |

well i liked the Guardians of Time series by Marianne Curley. they went back in time to historical events so i guess that would count! _________________ ~For my heart and his body, This

The People of the Wolf series by W. Michael Gear, and Kathleen O'Neal Gear. It's about the early Native Americans, it's got romance, action, history, and legend all rolled in one series. I definitely recommend them. _________________ "I am now the Lord of the Land of Shadows and Dreams."- Sir Miles, The Prince and the Pauper.

Uh, kinda ancient stuff. More recent and it just gets kinda melodramatic, as Fayore says. Mary Renault's books on Alexander the Great and King Theseus and stuff like that was great. I'm a sucker for the ancients. (If that's how you'd define them.)
...But I hate Rome. :/
I'm pretty much up for anywhere. _________________ |

The boy in Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne, it is fantastic! It's set during WW2 in a concentration camp, can't say much more or I'll spoil the plot!
Definitley a book I'd recommend! _________________ Caffeine Addict since 2006! |
