rated ''R'' because of smoking?

I just heard about this the movie assoicaion is making movies that have smoking in it rated R which is kinda stupid because what if something let Fantastic 4 have smoking in it are they going to make it rated R. What do you think

Actually, this is the part that bothers me the most. FCC control over movie content? Hell, no. Just stamp a higher rating on it, don't censor.

I'd blame it more on Conservative America having too much influence over.. pretty much everything, than the actual people rating the movies.

i did, actually. But I was probably the only one.

I don't watch movies for the sexual content, smoking, or the violence. So I pretty much don't care what they do about it. Besides, the DVD releases will have uncut versions.

It's got to have more than smoking to be rated R. That's a dumb rule. I understand it being R for strong language and nudity,but smoking? Some people are idiots.
