Help?

When I'm writing fanfiction, I sometimes use emoticons. But If I use this one---> [b]>_<[/b], when the chapter is up, everything after [b]<[/b] is gone! I thought this happens to everybody, but I just read a fanfiction that had [b]<[/b] in it, but it was just fine! What's going on?

Depends on what file type your story was uploaded as. the < symbol is used in html, so sometimes it'll try and turn everything after into a code.
Try to avoid using emoticons in fanfiction; it's really not too mature. If you really want to use emoticons, try to reserve them for author's notes after the chapter is done. This way, you won't lose much important stuff.

If you absolutely must use angle brackets, type > for > and < for < .

But heed Trinity_Fire's words: emoticons make a fanfiction look [i]BAD[/i]. Relying on emoticons to convey a character's feelings and emotions for you, starves the writing of the very words and prose that more powerfully communicate such feelings and emotions to the reader.

Oh, a script-fic. I suspected as much. (Hopefully not an IM-fic though.)

If it's not serious, then I guess form does not matter. Much.
