You know, it could just be me... but this work seems really familiar. I'm almost sure I've seen this exact pose before. If anyone else recognizes this, please tell me.

Scanners an the Internet were not even around back in '84.

The colored piece... hmm. Is that skin tone digital? There's no grain or variation like with the rest of the drawing.

Aside from that, at least the drawings appear consistent with each other.

Old image maybe? The initials in the signature somewhat match the initials of the user. He [i]was[/i] alive in that year (according to his myspace; looks it in the photos, too).

I wouldn't say that this one's better than the others. And like Strata said, the skin tone does look too smooth to be done by hand. The comment that came with the post seems suspicious at first, because of the date, but I'm guessing that he just took a really old picture, redid the skin, and submitted it.

Given that all of the images show the same style (and some of them are 150dpi to boot), I don't see any reason to suspect this user at this time.
