Weird Wii glitch...

Ok, so my wii was working absolutely fine yesterday. Today I get on to play some of the games I got early and now it won't play them. Or, more specifically, it won't play Avatar: The burning Earth and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games. It still plays Wii sports and Sonic and the secret rings fine, in addition to my gamecube games.

What happens is this: I put the disc in, and I go to the disc channel. It gives me the usual screen, with the preview thing and the little clip of in-game music. When I click start, it goes to a black screen for a few seconds, then gives me the wii menu loading thing and takes me back to the main menu.

Any clue what's going on? I'd really appreciate some help.

And yes, I did check both discs for scratches and such.

Edit: And now it's working again... What on Earth is going on?

remember when the ps2 came out and it was all fucked up? maybe ya got a fucked up wii? ask the people who sold you it for a return..?

Maybe, except for the fact that a) I got it well after they got all of the initial bugs worked out and b) it's worked absolutely perfectly until today.

Did you play any games recently that required a Wii System Update?

It should be standard practice that if a game requires a newer system update, the disc includes it and the update is installed automatically.....

Um, I don't think so. All of the wii games I own were listed in the first post (my library is small at the moment).

It may have something to do with the nunchuck, because it seems like I have better luck when starting with just the wii remote, though it's gone okay before when the nunchuck was connected...

And now NiGHTS is doing it too...
