|
|
Okay. So I want to create a watermark so I can put in on my pictures to prevent art theft.
Normally I just type my username on there.
Any way I can create good watermarks? I want to know how to create one.
Art Programs I have at my disposal:

openCanvas 4.05e Plus

GIMP 2

Photoshop Elements 5.0

MS Paint

Microsoft Photo Editor
[/list:u]
Please, someone tell me of an easy way to create a logo watermark so I can put it on my pictures! Thanks! |

Gimp should be able to do this:
create a new layer.
Doodle on that layer your preferred logo/signature/whatever.
Set that layer to screen/lighten/hardlight/softlight.
Fool around with the transparency until satisfied. |

Try Inkscape -- open source vector-graphics editor, good for creating symbols, logos, watermarks. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Where can I get that program? Is it freeware, or do I have to pay for it? |

Inkscape, like GIMP, is an open-source editor (and equally as free). _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

How do you make a watermark in Inkscape? I can't figure it out. I am still having problems. |

Well, vector graphics are a completely different realm than raster. Have you read through all of Inkscape's tutorials?
For starters, take the Pencil tool and draw some kind of shape to serve as your watermark. This will create a vector path that you can then edit and tweak with the Path tool.
You can also use the line/Bezier tool, which allows you to draw straight lines and/or curves by click-and-drag.
After that, it's basically just a bunch of node editing with the Paths tool. Add some text with the Text tool if you want, then when you're done you use the "Export" command to make a .png copy of it, which you can import into GIMP as a layer. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA
