New Advisory Rating?

I'm sure this may have been mentioned before, but what the heck.

You know those little icons that you can add to a pic to warn other viewers? Like "Spoiler", "Sexual Content", "Nudity", "Violence", etc.?

How about make one for drug content, like alcohol (beer, liquor, whiskey, moonshine, wine, etc.), abusing pills, smoking (weed, cigarettes, cigars), shooting up (injecting one's self), 'shrooms -- you get the point.

Some people may find drugs offensive or whatever, and I think that there should be an advisory for drug use.

Any thoughts?

This has been considered before. Adding new advisories can technically be done (and rather simply, at that) but it's not particularly easy and might require some actual site downtime.

Well, with all the planning into some other features revolving around that section of the database, we could get a few things done all at once.

Of course, for just the two or three things that we have to add, and them being rather small additions, I don't think its really worth off-lining the site...
Something larger maybe?

Simple, as in one SQL statement applied across multiple tables... not in terms of how much processing is involved.

Well come on, isn't the file for ratings a centralized thing now?
So, we update that, and the SQL for data fetching, and of course, the column additions to be made.

All in all, I don't think it would be TOO hard.
Just take a really long time to add on to the site... as far as the database is concerned.

So best bet is to set it up in the files (comment it out) and when we get around to doing some DB cleaning, or a major addition, we'll add the stuff then.

If you really want to add it you can, but keep in mind.
* You have to edit the code of all 5 or so gallery style pages to process the filters and all the sql queries
* rating query functions in functions.php
* Have to edit the code of the filters box -- and find a place to fit the new rating in it's layout
* add the rating to the rating.php and ratings.php template files
* edit the rating preferences in the regiter page
* change the base_ratings table
* probebly other things I'm forgetting.

It's not a simple change.

So then, this comes at a much later time. Very Happy
