|
|
Okay. I want to download some videos off of YouTube.
I have an add-on on my Firefox 2.0 Browser, called "DownloadHelper".
I right-click and choose to download the video.
It downloads, but it saves as a .FLV file. And it won't play in Windows Media Player, and I can't import it into Windows Movie Maker.
I've tried renaming the file name, adding a ".mpg" at the end of the file name, and it still doesn't work.
Is there anything I can do to get it to work? Or, is there any other software that will allow me to download videos from YouTube?
I really need your help! |

Input the url in and hit start. It may take a few minutes to download, and you can't really do too many at one time. Take it slow when you use it. |

The first two times it said there was an error or something, and now it's taking a while. |

Sometimes there are errors, and sometimes it may take a little while to load. It can be reliable most of the time, then there are times when it has issues.
Sorry I almost forgot to mention that. |

Any alternatives than that site? Because it never worked. I got over 20 error messages. And I tried using different YouTube links. |

If its and FLV file then it won't be able to go with windows media player, you should download the FLV player at www.prowzer.com .

this might be alittle more helpful (hopefully). _________________ THIS SIGNATURE IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. |

Maybe, but I want to be able to use Windows Movie Maker to make AMVs but .FLV is not a compatible file with it. I am just wanting to download the videos so I can make music videos, not watch them. |

Silly, how will changing the extension magically convert the file? Just download a file converter to change it from an flv to whatever you need it to be.

RealPlayer will also let you download and watch the FLVs.
It doesn't convert it though, at least I don't think so...
At any rate, RealPlayer usually downloads the video files without errors, unlike that extension, and once you've got it, just google and download a converter for it. |

Is there any possible way where I can download the videos, convert them to something other than that .FLV file, and import them into Windows Movie Maker?
I'm trying to make an AMV. |

Use Zamzar.com. It lets you download them and auto-convert. |

I don't use WMM, but I bet it's because you didn't make it into a mainstream format, such as .avi or .mpg. |

Use the Publish Movie command in the file menu of windows movie maker.
That will allow you to save it as a wmv file and that should work.
Web sites will never support WMM files because those are raw unprocessed files that really only hold links to other files on your computer to use in the video, up until the video is made into an actual video. |
