For some odd reason, quote marks and apostrophes don't show up, even though they are in the original document. Things such as "don't" will show up dont. Something like, "Hello, it's a nice day" shows up Hello its a nice day without quotes or anything besides a period. Thanks for your help!

Is this in a story submission?
If so, please tell us the form of submission. If you have uploaded a file and are experiencing this problem, then please tell us what kind of file it is that you are uploading.
If need be, send a copy of that file to this email address: twilightthorn.kh@gmail.com. |

I uploaded a file from my computer and this happened. The submission is titled "[u]A Fanfic Request Done For London[/u]." It is a word file, using the Macintosh version of word, and it should not be doing this, since it's had no problems with this when I uploaded previous fanfics. This is a story submission. Any help is great, if you need the word file, I can send it to that address. |

I can't find anything in the source that would cover them, as they just aren't there at all.
I just tested my own MS version document and found something else of interest. It's this little character here:
This is being used in place of all the line breaks in an MS word document upload. Note that this is saved as the 97-03 version from the 07 version.
Trying to find the UTF-8 or even ascii code for this and google simply returns it as a "?" when searched.
What this means, is either the UTF-8 normalization attempt has failed, or the new document processing library needs some work.
If you want to try and fix it, you can use the BBCode editor to place your quotes.
Terribly sorry for the inconvenience

Just posting some info for Denis.
The character I had posted before is shown as a Vertical Tab, ascii character #11.
But why a line return is transformed into a Vert Tab is beyond me.
I don't think that this is because of the UTF-8 normalization though, since all the stories process this way and the breaks remain the same, and readable, when using the BBcode editor.
BTW, Java editor still needs to be updated to work right. Line feeds, and a few other things have been fixed. |

Could you also check out the recently added Microsoft Word Mac uploaded files labeled "Leah Willard Ace Paralegal 1" and then it goes numbered up until four? The italics are working just fine, but all four of these have the same problem and I'm too busy right now to be able to go in and manually fix it. However, if it hasn't been fixed by the time I'm free, I'll go and fix it. Thanks! |
