It's based on a more complex (and secret) criteria than simply your number of submissions. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

A user aquires Auto approval status when they have proven that they can conform to the submission policy, it has nothing to do with the number of images that one has had approved, ratings or the even site staff doing approvals.
Approvals are done manually, Auto approval status is granted by an automated system based on other complex criteria calculated internally. _________________ RPG-n. Not to mention that site staff can reset or disable a user's auto status if it becomes necessary to do that to somebody. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Yes, meaning if a user keeps submitting art to the wrong categories, uses lined-paper, traces, tries to submit photos/manipulations, etc., then that person will be taken off Auto-Approval and their art will have to be monitored closely. |

I forgot to mention, if you achieve Auto-Approval status, and suddenly it's gone, it may be due to these reasons:

You were submitting inappropriate content (lined-paper, hentai, photographs/manipulations).

You were submitting into the wrong categories (i.e.: submitting a drawing of a cat into the canines category).

Tracing violations.

You were submitting into a monitored category, such as tutorials or pixel art.
[/list:o]
For the fourth reason, if you have gained Auto-Approval status, but if you submit into a monitored category, the picture will go into pending for a while to see if it meets that category's standards. In other words, you still have Auto-Approval, but they monitor any pictures submitted into the certain monitored categories.
how do i know which categories are monitered....?
There's certain kinds that are monitored.
Examples of some monitored categories:
- Tutorials and all subsections: To uphold quality standards for this section; occasional misuse by newbies
- Miscellaneous > Digital Art > Pixel Art: To enforce the definition of 'pixel art'; occasional misuse by newbies
- Anime/Manga > Final Fantasy Unlimited: Frequent confusion with the videogames, which are a separate series.
I don't know all of them exactly, as there is more than those probably. |

I'm not going to list them all. With over 3,000 categories in the system, even if only 3% are actually monitored that still means nearly 100 categories.
But . . . y'know, this could be an interesting site statistic . . . . _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Submitting to monitored categories doesn't hurt you in any way as long as what you submit actually belongs there. It just takes a little longer to get your pictures on the site if you've got auto-approval, that's all. _________________ Go Yankees! |
