ok ive got an idea for various texture patterns for my eevees but im not entirely sure if im allowed to do this sort of thing on this particular site. let me explain. i go outside and take a good close up shot of say, a white rose. i load that into my computer, bring up my original eevee line art in photoshop 8, duplicate, and bring up the new flower picture. from here i make the flower picture very clear, position it where i want it and use magnetic lasso and then delete what isnt going to fill the area desired, giving me my texture pattern for whatever part of the eevee i was working on at the time. is that particular style allowed for coloring?

It would be.. allowed, I suppose, but it would look terrible if you don't warp it to fit the shape of the area you're covering. Actually, it would still probably look terrible.

You mean taking a photo of a rose and converting it into a tileable texture pattern? I don't see anything obviously wrong with that, however London does have a point, 99% of the time flat, tiled textures look absolutely horrible.

no no no no, you misunderstand me, 1 image and the texture is the 1 picture cut to fit, albeit magnified a bit.
