Renji needs a background

Just thought I'd throw this out there and see if anyone had any interesting background ideas. Comments on the illustration as it is are helpful too. Thx =^-^=

Dunno about the background, but the palm on his right hand is too short, and his face is oddly triangular shaped. It looks like a piece of his jaw is missing.

How's about a shrine theme? Like, there could be some steps leading up to one of them Japanese shrines slightly in the distance? Perhaps he be protecting a ghost from a Hollow? Just a thought.

Oh and I agree with London about the jaw- it doesn't look full enough to me. Needs to come down a bit more, less angular. Is Renji from the actual Bleach series, then? I'm kinda new to it, see.

hey-thx guys! I played w/his jaw a lot actually and this way looked the most Renji-ish to me, he does have a rather angular face and I don't usually draw like that, but I'll play some more.
You're right about his hand, don't know how I missed that. thx!

Thanks. Which manga volume does he appear in, or was he created for the anime version.

JazKitty: you're welcome. About the jaw- I just never seen that character before, that's all. If you're happy with it, that's fine, but I can't see nothing wrong with either hand.

Actually I fixed his jaw a little...prob. no one would notice the diff. but me..lol. so I won't repost it.

Renji shows up at the end of vol. 6 but you don't get to know him until vol. 11. He's definitely one of my fav. characters!
