Rootkit Paranoia

Okay, so I recently purchased some burnable CDs by Sony. I was looking around online, and found the Sony BMG scandal that involved a nasty rootkit being installed. I now know the infected titles, but I want to know: do ALL sony products have a rootkit? Or some OTHER computer-killing software I should know about?

I know this entire post probably sounds stupid, but I need some help. I don't want to burn my files onto these CDs if they have the potential to kill my PC.

If you feel that the fandom is worthless, then fighting the urge to pass judgement on a picture based on that fandom is a rather good idea.

That is, of course, unless you want the fangirls/fanboys coming after you with foaming mouths.

Several of their audio CDs are known to have rootkits. Blank CDs should be safe.

But why would you waste your money on blank sony CDs? The generic ones are just as good at much less cost.

Anyway, you shouldn't buy Sony products. They keep dicking around with people with stuff like this rootkit crap. You shouldn't support that by giving them money.
