Picture Flagging System?

I have an idea regarding pictures/stories, but I don't think it would work too well.

I got the idea from YouTube.

How about on pictures or stories, put a "Flag as Inappropriate" feature, where a user will click it and a drop down menu will appear and they can choose why they are flagging it, and only the admin can see the flag.

Flagging options:

[*]Promotes Cyber Bullying or Hatred Towards Another User
[*]Shocking or Disgusting Content (Goatse)
[*] Extreme nudity (depiction of genitals)
[*]Strong Sexual Content (Hentail/Porn)
[*] Misleading Thumbnail
[*]Abuse of the Ratings System (Such as Falconlobo, who puts the Spoiler rating on pretty much ALL her pictures when they don't have spoilers at all)
[*]Wrong Category
[*] Photograph/Photo Manipulation Uploaded
[*]Image Way Too Large/Needs Cropping
[*]Lined Paper

I would include "Stolen Art" as an option, but I'm afraid that would be abused, either as people getting back at others, or people mistaking actual art as a trace or screenshot. But seeing as we have the Artist Abuse section here, they can file their claims there.

I don't know if this would be a good idea or not, but I'm just voicing my opinion.

No, it was intended for reporting technical problems (such as broken images/thumbs) only, not actual violations.

We don't have a Reporting function of any kind available as-is, and we really need to have one for the next release. The only real issue is how to design it... i.e., so that if the same piece gets reported multiple times by different users it doesn't clog up the reports queue.

On the contrary, there was, Denis tried one but I got sick of unadulterated ignorant use of reports from the sites mailer. Additionally I believe it was based on individual users and not individual images. If you go into the abuse mail you will find several of them in the junk folder.


As far as the flagging, it's not a bad idea actually.

My idea onto it would involve another control panel specifically for the abuse team to check reasent flaged images similar to that of the broken images control panel. From there the staff can either process acordingly or remove the flag.

A function like that would likely see far more use than the AAA section of the forum. Just don't have it go to abuse mail, people get lazy when they have to type antyhing.

Also, nobody actually was dealing with the support email for a while so I got rid of it.

Well it's all delt with now with the exception of the technical matters cuz I know nothing about that stuffs.

Anywho I can leave support and abuse unauttended for three months and still have it cought up in a matter of hours. It's literally that slow, both emails combined average four to five emails a week including the spam that makes it through the filters.
