What happened to the fun?

I'm not going to run my mouth about what I think is wrong or this needs this or that needs that. No. I just want to know, what happened? What made FAC so . . . so dull? I mean it's like all the popular artist just vanished, no one is commenting anymore. It just seems like FanArtCentral is going into a depression, here. In 2005 it seemed to be booming, FAC was fun. Now . . . it's just boring.

It's seems it start when FAC first changed it's design to dark grey look. Which didn't like. The theme now is tolerable. I doubt it's the layout, but what happened?

But still, a new breed should come along and keep the juice pumping. So that doesn't explain the boredom.

My guess is people are working and/or kids in school. As summer hits, it's probably going to get [u]a little[/u] better (No one can make promises though). FAC's being slower though lately, and that's not a good thing.

If you really want more people here, you should encourage friends/peers/acquaintances to join!

If you have any ideas for [b]positive[/b] things we can do, then by all means speak up. We're tossing some ideas around between staff members, but actual development is slow.

Retarded fangirls started to come here at the end of 06.
They have wet dreams about a stupid anime character, annoying the good artists for a RQ and asking everyone to "be friends", maybe thats why most of the good artists left.

FAC has always been filled with fangirls.

I may kill the ap, but DAOL has been keeping up with it well, so there isn't any major benefit at the moment.

Anyway, I'd rather not kill it 'till the abuse reporting tools are ready.

Making a suggestion? Personally, I don't feel like I've been here long enough to make a suggestion.

The only thing I can think of is a "FrontPage" type deal like newgrounds. Where the highest ratings of the week, not month, for both stories and pictures.

And a user ranking system could get some people parked into ther worn seats may help. As well as a virtual "reward" for their acomplishments.

Or just some stuff for user interactivity in the profiles, like ranks, "trophies" ect. I don't know - but that's just me, some dork on the computer.

But that is just some on-top on the head thoughts, I really have no business speaking. I don't know coding, I hardly qualify as an FAC veteran, and I'm damn sure not the most popular writer.

That would be nice for a change. Nobody suggests much to feature on the frontpage anymore.

Unfortunately, I have PM's in my inbox about new trolling activities and the badly-needed Reporting functions must take priority.
