RPG and Adventure games discussion

Oh, god, I think I know what game would most be talked about in this thread. Any of the Final Fantasy games, right? Oh, well. I like my Nintendo Wii, but am bored of fighting games like Super Smash Bros Brawl and Guilty Gear, so I went off them and became more interested in sports and adventure/rpg games instead.

I like Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for adventure. It looks sleek and well polished; the soundtrack is awesome; there could have been voice overs instead of the multiude of text, but I'm not complaining about that. The wolf works like a charm, but I'm still not used to the control system yet. Is there any good adventure games/ rpg games out there for the Ninendo Wii? Also, since this is open to all other consoles, discuss your favourites of these two generes.

[color=red]There is Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
that was a pretty good game. Although, that game is a sequal to the first Tales of Symphonia, which was for the Game Cube.
You could probably get both of them and play them, since the Wii can play Game Cube games.[/color]

very true that game was overrated

on the wii i gonna say Prince of Persia the two thrones
was a good adventure game( the controls took some getting used to but after a while i had no prob with it).

on ps2 my fave adventure games for that system were Shadow Of The Colossus and Beyond Good And Evil
(i Cant wait for beyond good and evil 2 its gonna be awesome).

I used to have an XBox 360 and played Fable 2 a lot, but I went right off the games catalogue for the console and decided to trade in for the Wii.

Two Thrones is more of a platformer than an adventure. I've never played the Wii port, so I can't vouch for the controls, but the PS2 version was fun as hell.

It also probably costs next to nothing now.

I agree with tyler, dont forget the legendary FF saga, RE saga, and God of war saga were all born on the playstation and PS2 xP

God of war is damn awsome in my opinion, very gory and armed to the teeth with awsome combos and attacks.

Final Fantasy 7; do I REALLY need to say more? Probly the reason it is a ultimate hit amongst gamers is because it was the FIRST FF rpg in 3D animation. Not to mention it had an interesting story line and an actual tough boss. (That is if you dont have the right stuff to use against him)

KH series. I was lured towards it when I heard the rumors of Cloud showing up in it. However I forgot all about ol Cloudy when I started playing the game. Very epic indeed. Sure KH2 wasent as good but you show me a sequal of a game that is better than the original. Wink

(They should have put Vincent in it!)

Dirge of Cerberus, this game in my opinion is a breath of fresh air from Devil may cry. Sure not alot of people like it but I love it. Amazing graphics, good story line, wicked shooting sequences, jaw dropping cutscenes, and challanging extra missions. (Im STILL getting my ass handed to me on the labryinth mission Dx) If a game makes me wanna play it more than once, that's a game for me. x3
Sure they should have added some extra things like giving Vincent more combo attacks for when he is fighting hand-to-hand. Or maybe adding his other monster forms Gigavolt and Hellmasker. And maybe a few puzzels here and there like in RE4.

RE4 one of the best 3rd person shooters in my opinion besides DoC. The graphics were top notch and the puzzels were challanging. Plus the story plot was excellent. Gotta say this was the game that saved the RE series from rotting away like one of it's many zombie creations. nn

I own a 360 a ps2 both paid for by me. and I grew up on snes and sega geneses. my little broithers have ds and wii and I've played them both and none of the gasmes kept me entertained for more then a half hour other then resident evil and ssbb. i understand that each console has its own strengths and weaknesess faggot, I just dont care for nintendo anymore. i dont like games designed for children or the whole family.

Umm... Ninendo Wii has some games that aren't for the whole family. Resident Evil 4 and Mad World being 2 of them. It can be for the one person, the Wii. Twilight Princess is gripping stuff.

Others: Thanks for the titles that keep coming on here. I don't mean to sound biased, but I used to have an XBox 360, PS2... It's great that titles for other consoles are mentioned here.

Metroid Prime: Nah, first person makes me feel queezy, but I do understand they are good games.

Fire Emblem: Yeah, I've always liked the look of that game.

FF games... nah. But, I have played FF10 and FF10-2, plus a little of FF7. They are so popular in the gaming world.

Kingdom Hearts: Played some of the first one and couldn't get on with it at all. Man, I am fussy over what game I like! It had good graphics, though and nice visual effects Smile
