I wanted to poll the opinion of the people here at FAC to find "The Greatest Anime of All Time".Obviously, Cowboy Bebop wins hands down, so it's out of the running unless I have legitimate reason to doubt it's Popularity on FAC. I've got a list of my own of anime's that fit my criteria for judging, but I will be taking nominations, the criteria is only that the anime is or was at one time licensed in the states, so I guess this is more "america's greatest anime of all time". The winning anime will get a hueyfreeman article posted here on FAC examining it's past and present succeses.

The list so far: Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, DragonBall( all series), Death Note, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakusho, Lupin III, Yugi-Oh, Pokemon (this better not win), the irresponsible Captain tylor, Gundam Wing.

One Piece and bleach are absent because the versions here in the states suck. If you really want them that bad I'll add them but I won't be happy.

Nominations will be taken until the 30th of november when the polling will take place. polls are closed at midnight on Dec 2nd.

(disclaimer, this post was made out of boredom)

Oh and since this is only to take nominations i was hoping this could remain out of the "contest" forums, it's a discussion of what are the possiblities.

What about Wolf's Rain and Code Geass? :O
In my opinion the manga version of WR was too short, and it didnt have that good an ending, however the anime ROCKED and was dripping with violent scenes and bloodshed. It also could tug at your heart strings. That show and FMA were the only ones who could get me to cry. And THAT'S a good anime in my opinion if it can bring out that type of emotion in me.

Code Geass was so-so but I still think it should get mentioned

Looks like a homo rip off of sonic the hedgehog to me xD STOP IT JAPAN BUNNIES ARE TO PET NOT MOLEST OR BE SEMES!

Also CCS is cool, I love some of the music, especially from the spin off. And Yue is pretty damn fine, and that black feline with the fairy wings is awsome looking. :3

I freakin hate shoujo, but Card Captor sakura is on the ballot. As clamp titles are all crossovers anyway does it bother you if I just make it a clamp category or does card captor deserve it's own spot?

If you're basing greatest anime on a popularity poll, just go onto the mainsite and see which anime has the most fanart. (The winner is Sonic the Hedgehog. If you don't count that as anime, the winner is Inuyasha.)

I Don't have any other idea of how to do it unless I had a group of people to discuss what factors should be included. let's say I do the poll. then top three get discussed and looked at, (ie. how much money it's made, if it's currently licensed and If there are any future projects for the anime). prize stays the same but I'll need someone to review these with me. anyone care to volunteer?

I'd love to help but sadly my computer doesnt have the power to go all over the internet, plus I got dial up T3T

However I did hear that the FMA anime brotherhood might just come to the states, that would count as further projects on FMA correct? (Also they might not be able to get Aaron Dismuke to be the VA for Alphonse again)
