Having a mobile Interface for FAC

I was wondering, if FAC has an mobile interface for cell and smart phones, (like blackberry, iPhone, all those toys) on FAC. I,ve been trying to see if I can upload pictures from my phone (Blackberry Curve) but it keeps failing to load the catagory field. (It says where you submit the picture under catagory: "Error - no data. Click to retry") and I try refreshing the page, but it still gives me the same message. I was wondering there's a interface for FAC that supports Cell Phone broswers for uploading and everything like a PC

Currently, FAC doesn't have a Mobile interface.

Making a mobile access point for the website is loads of hard work. Not to mention we have to take into consideration all the different kinds of mobile browsers and try to make sure that the site will look the same on all of those browsers.

I would like to see this in the future, but it will be a little ways off for FAC I think.

If you don't mind me asking, how important do you think this feature would be? Is it something that would be a great asset to FAC?

Not everyone needs an iPhone. You un-informed middle-class citizen.

He's asking a good question, since there are billions of devices that access the web today than can't display webpages as they are or would be displayed in normal browsers.
For example, hand-helds like the PSP, or DS have mobile browsers. Even my shitty 4-year-old phone can access the web.

Any half-decent smart phone has a full normal web browser and other than the small screen size, fac should more or less work fine.

Sounds like JavaScript is turned off by default in the BlackBerry, A quick google shows to turn it on you'll need to

Go to Browser->Options->Browser Configuration->Scroll down->Enable "Support JavaScript"->Save Options

FWIW FAC actually checks for certain types of Webphones before generating pages, but it doesn't do anything (important) with what it finds.

FAC should work anywhere. I was talking about FAC not having and actual Mobile template, like one built to display well at smaller resolutions.

I'm very picky about templates and all that crap, so I spent a bit of time studying how to do Mobile-ready websites. Rolling Eyes

Actually, that's understandable, you get a TV screen, and my cousins have wii.

But cellphones with tiny screens. I don't know why you would even visit art sites on a cellphone. The last time I used internet on my phone was to look up phone numbers for a taxi in the middle of maelstrom, and even that couldn't display 10-digit phone number properly.

Well, this blackberry is my only access to the internet right now, and I already know I'm limited beacuse its functions are mainly for calling and that fun stuff, but I wish to continue my operations here and everywhere else the best I can with this phone, until my internet service is back. XP

The site is viewed just as the regular beautiful website. I believe I do have the ability to upload new pictures from this phone, etheir way, but I was only just wondering if there was an interface. I apologise if I imposed on anything accidentally. The only problem that impacted me was the catgorlory (forgive my spelling) java was saying that there was an error and that no data was there.

The category-select box was difficult to get working right in the first place, and since Javascript isn't entirely standardized it can exhibit obscure bugs in specific browsers.

Cellphones are to overcomplicated and overpriced these days. Why the hell would you ned a phone that can go n the internet do gps, run ms word and have a built in music player? I can see the gps maybe, but the other stuff is retarded and only serves to run up the phones price. If you MUST do things such as post on forums or look at art on the go, get a laptop, and get an ipod for music. a phone is for calling and txting, not to be an entertainment center. I just dont sdee why you would want or need to check your email then ngo troll /b/ while at school or work or whatever. maybe if your bored on the bus, but again ipod, laptop. I'm getting off topic though lol . I'll shut up.

The OP already said that his phone was his only way to access the internet because his regular set up is temporarily offline.

I use my phone as a music player. Why not? Most phones can do that now and ipods are expensive. The only reason I see to get an ipod is if you absolutely need to have your entire giant pirated music collection with you at all times.

I have an 80-gb ipod I use mostly in the house because my stereo is connected to it. I don't like having the computer on when I'm doing homwork with music.

Also, classic ipod is now obsolete.
