Deleted email

I'm writing this for a friend. She hasn't been on in a long time, and forgot her password. It turns out that she used her old email for this site, and that account was deleted because she never checked it. How is she supposed to log in without being able to have her password sent to her?

It would probably be easier for your friend to just make a new account.
IMO.

If both your account password and email address are "lost", then your account is essentially non-recoverable because there's virtually no way to prove that you are who you say you are.

If she uses hotmail, I remember going to sign in once that there was a time were you could reactive your account if you don't check it in 30 days. But that was a while ago not sure if you can still do that.

But next time your friend should her email at least once a week if not once a day. I check mine every day or once every 3 days or something. She should also keep track of the emails she is using.

I don't know what else to say so I'll just leave now.

It gets worse, too, because if you're using a "free" email service and haven't logged into your account in a long time, they might actually prune it from the systems and another person could register that address.

Oh dude, that would suck. Highly advisable to [b]not[/b] use "free" email service, one being the reason you Strata stated above. Most preferred emails to use (in my opinion anyways) is to use yahoo, hotmail or even gmail. Aslong as you constantly use it and checking the email so the account doesn't get terminated or anything.

Hotmail inactivates free accounts after 30 days' inactivity, and fully purges them after 90.
