I would, but I lack the types of paint I want, maybe I can go look around the stores. (I mean as in REAL paint, not water color painting. Water color painting never seemed too fun to me, I like the good ol paint like on Pheral's easal.)

I should probly look around for clay too, I wanna make a few sculptures cause I am soo bloody bored. I made the sennen rod years ago in art class, turned out badass, even got the right type of gold paint for it.

Hard to say where my family stands. Their comments don't go much further then 'That's nice' and 'Cool' when it comes to anything artistic. Compared to my sisters, who are athletic, there is a big hole where encouragement should go in my life.

My parents are both deceased, they couldn't care less.

Same here, I think my family only appreciates my sisters work. She is AMAZING! I mean it go's against my complaint, but she is.

My parents haven't really looked at my art. At least I think they haven't.
They often nose around my room, hunting through my piles and piles of doodles (most of them quite personal), just because "my room is a mess". They haven't said anything about them though.

I've been drawing since I was like, 5. But I only got actually good recently. My parents are happy that I like drawing and are proud that I'm going to university for it. Arts were really the only thing I excelled at in school haha

My father (RIP) and my stepmother both spring from the Bohemian artsy community...They have never had any issues with it, but my grandmother (also RIP) wanted me to toss my art persuits and become a businessman...

...Guess I failed her...Oh well Razz

I have a friend who dropped out of law school to persue an art career...Her parents went absolutely ballistic! She became successful after quite a few years, and makes a comfortable living from her endeavours...She enjoys whet she does, and doesn't have to sell her soul as much as she would being a lawyer or litigator (they're mostly corrupt, anyway)...Parents have now accepted this Smile

All it takes is a little dream-synergism and goal-getting to get your parents to let their guard down a little!

Your friend must be good if she can make a living off her work. Does she have a website? By the way, the lawyer outlook is getting worse and worse as of late. More lawyers are being dished out then they are being accepted.

(To luckyface) I haven't heard from her in about two years, she had a website, but right now, she's under contract for a company in the UK (where she resides now) that considered her site "a conflict of interest"...So she had to shut it down...When she calls or emails me, I'll find out whet she's up to...

This is still the problem with securing an art career...Your material is always @ the mercy of horses asses whom only know how to bite gold! Razz

Cool That is the same for lawyers, doctors, and practically everyone who can be sued- which is many people- and thus, many careers.

My parents support my art. My mom is amazed and I think my dad's my worst critic besides myself XD
