Trading Card Games aren't really about anything really just a card game for people to enjoy.
300 cards about around summons(creatures by most games) Heroes, spells and terrain cards

as normal summons/creatures are spilt into sub catagories
Summons:
Undead
Beast
Imp
Spirit

Heroes:
Archer
Assassin
Druid
Healer/Priest (whichever you want to go by)
Mage
Necromancer
Summoner
Warlock
Warrior

Terrain: (Basicly normal terrain (stat boosters) and Ruins (helps tweak your
deck so you can play more faster toward what your deck is made of)

and lastly

Spell: (go old fashion spell cards everyone loves them)
Normal (damage, healing, mass effect, Bonus)
Enhancement (give summons bonus like extra effects and such (wouldnt use too many))

Its a fantasy based card game
I would perfer no anime artwork

If your looking to get some art published, this may help you out.

Credit is given on the card by your first and last name being on the card.
As well as your name will be on the artist section of the art list.
http://phentrix.webs.com/warstartersetlist.htm

There are like 70 cards already ready they just need the card art to be totaly finished.

It sounds like a lot of work, very little fun for even less reward.

And there is 99.99 percent chance that this won't get off the ground, meaning whoever did the art would have done something for nothing.

The game sound really generic, with the Magic the Gathering / Yu-gi-oh still around, standalone games like this not tied to any other franchise will just flop.

Be a winner and file for Chapter 11 now.

Brian, that stinger at the end of your sarcasm is taking it a step too far.

And if it does work than the artists name has a chance of getting around.
Really taking the time to do a pic seems like a fair trade off.
For those with site I'll be turning they name into a link to they website to show off their artwork

I'm surprised that you even got the reference, Mr. Wikipedia.

You are the only one who's complaining in this thread. I merely pointed out why it's a stupid idea to participate in this.

You seem to think that Artists have all the time in the world to produce 300+ thumbnail art to your liking with promise of a (tiny) possibility of getting noticed by 12 people in the world who play independent TCG's and also have money. (They are mutually exclusive). Most artists get noticed by holding shows in gallery spaces and submitting their artwork (of their own discretion, not yours) to galas. I'm not stopping anyone from participating in this. I'm just telling you and whoever reads this that it's a stupid idea. I don't think you even know how much time goes into making a picture and make it look good. I'll be lenient and say that it will take around 4 hours a picture, that's 300 x 4, 1200 man-hours. If you say you can work 8 hours a day; that's 150 days of full-time employment. If you work at McDonald's with minimum wage of 10 dollars an hour (since we are both Canadians here), that's $12000 (with vacations). What YOU are offering is exactly 0. Even if there's 10 artists working together, that's still 1200 dollars someone could make by accidentally walking into a restaurant with a hairnet.

Anyway, unlike SOME wet blankets, I think you should keep going through with it, you should ask around on DA for some help too, they got some amazing fantasy artists.

someone from DA already agreed to help. (just cant help till the weekend cause of exams)
I've posted Here, Elfwood and DA.
I'm looking for other art forums as well.

As for the amount of work one artist does is up to them.
It can be from 1 picture to 300 if they truely wish (Would be funny to see someone agree to that though and mean it)
This is a thing to do on the side or for fun.

That's good, well best of luck to ya, i'm rooting for your game to be known, sure it won't overshadow the annoying bitach that is pokemon TCG wise, but it might become known, who knows what the future holds. xP

. . . Well, all I have to say on the matter is that you should be aware of how many man-hours a project like this is going to involve. If you're talking about 300 or so cards, and you figure 1-2 hours per artwork . . . that adds up to a lot.

But then, just because you can't hit the moon doesn't mean it's a bad idea to shoot. Just be careful.

I'm trying to atleast get 10 arist if not more just so it goes faster and so they don't feel like they have to do a crap load of art.

As i've figured it out if this works out and money is made from it than those that have helped will get paid for it to the best that i can pay them.
Also why i'm keeping track of names and emails of those who help Razz
Cause idk if this will work out or not is the reason why i'm asking around in different places trying to get more artists helping (wish i had a $1000 or more though so i could just down right pay them for their work)

I'm going through the 70 cards that need art and checking if the words and that are spelled correctly and that right now.

As it stands idk if you draw it before i posted this or after words.
If the pic goes along with the monster summon and you can prove the pic is yours than let me know. cause i may be able to use it

Still, it's going to take a long time. If you receive an average of one artwork per day, a 300-card set is going to take ten months out of the year to develop. It's quite a lofty goal you're aiming at.
