My mom doesn't believe me that my computer is overheating,o.O
But anyway
Here's the overheating issue
I have an asus desktop pc
I get a notification from AI probe saying the temperature is abnormal.
-when I feel the back of my computer it starts off releasing cool air, as time goes by, it starts to get really warm. This is under 10-30 minutes.

Now the virus issue-
While watching a dvd it just shut down on me. It then rebooted into safe mode and I was able to shut it down properly.

I really think its overheating. And one more question will an extra cooling fan work?

There's a Windows XP option where if you get a Blue Screen of Death it may immediately attempt to reboot the computer. (Caused no end of headaches when my PC's multi-card reader crashed every time I put an SD card in it)

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > System Failure.

Its a vista.

Well, then, it would be sort of slightly important to know which operating system your computer is before we try to take any guesses at the problem.

Point remains, though, if the "automatically restart upon system failure" option is enabled, then you won't actually get a bluescreen because the bluescreen itself will cause Windows to start rebooting the system.

Please provide information:
- Operating System (Windows Vista)
- Name of whatever program you're using to watch your DVDs

I can Google up some troubleshooting threads easy enough, but just typing "DVD Vista crash reboot" isn't enough information to go by.

Thanks! Sorry but Im not sure about how to answer which operating system it is. I'll have to do some research to find out which one it is, again Im sorry.
As for the program I was watching the dvd on, it was windows media player.

Media Player? Thank you.

*googles*

Do any of these sound like the problem?
