;__; What a fantastic speech; great googly mooglie. Incredible that this can apply so many decades later! _________________ “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure...than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” ~Theodore Roosevelt |

from what i have heard (i haven't seen it yet) Sasha Baron Cohen's character in "the dictator" does a speech that seems to be very much inspired by that scene.
i remember the first time i seen this scene and being amazed that he did such a powerful performance...cause i always thought of him as a silent film actor. _________________

;u; They say Charlie Chaplin was the man to make us laugh with his silence and cry/cheer with his words. _________________ “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure...than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” ~Theodore Roosevelt |
