I hadn't written a story in months, which (to most of my friends) is unheard of. I used to write stories all the time, and I know why I quit, I just don't think it was a legitimate enough reason for me to drop writing all together.

Anyway, I've really gotten into writing/drawing stuff for my OCs. And I really want to write a good romance for them, but I've run into two little obstacles.

1. I'm not exactly sure where to start, I don't know if I want to do a story of their undercover relationship in high school or if I want to focus on their open college relationship.

2. I feel I'll have difficulty writing a good yuri romance. So any tips on writing good girl-girl romance would be awesome...

Do something daring. Like, something that could get your blood running. Forbidden romances are always fun to write. A Princess falling in love with her maid, but she has been betrothed already.

I could list plenty of ideas. C:

I explored the idea of a forbidden love. Like, where my OCs went to high school is pretty homophobic even if their school was all-girls.

If I do the high school setting, I'm going to emphasize how their school pretty much did everything together with the all-boys school that was down the street.

So, it's sort of that idea that since the girls were readily exposed to boys, people felt that any form of homosexual relationships wouldn't pop up.

So, I guess you can say that their relationship is 'socially' forbidden.

You should check out their red sheets on my profile. Smile!

Oh oh oh!

One could be on a rescue mission to rescue the other. And they're going on a long journey and their feelings develop.

.w.

I like High School settings- They can be fun. =DD

I know this is freaking ridiculous and lame/predictable, but...ROOMMATES.

I am obsessed with roommates because they have a living-with-each-other-bond, not just a see-each-other-every-once-in-a-while-and-skip-a-beat bond. It shows a more mature and interactive side of both characters, and from reading your characters sheets/picture descriptions, it does not seem like they can find out about each other's hidden personalities just from high-school.

I advise some form of conflict from the beginning. Make the girls likable and normal-looking from the outside. Full of friends. Themselves. But they are not. They do not understand themselves fully until they see their own feelings put into play before each other (add in a life-changing event like forgetting a wallet, bullies, parent-trouble, something to bring them together).

After setting up some form of conflict and PLOT, only then can a successful romance begin. I honestly believe the best romances start off with more plot than romance. As long as you make the characters likable/strong/true to their character, and they wrap around the plot nicely, the audience will start to have "ideas" already. That is how I start my romances.

That's a good approach, though. But now that you mention it, I did leave out the fact that they do live together (in college that is since they go to the same university). There are actually dates I need to fix on Hanna's, because right now the times I have listed don't match (my mistake, haha).

So, by that time they already pretty much know everything about each other.

Do you think the beginning of their college careers would make for a good story? I mean, despite the fact that they had been dating for two years, it would be the first time they've ever lived in the same place together for an extended period of time if you get what I mean. XD

Drama would make it interesting, for sure... If of course, their relationship isn't interesting enough. Wink

Sort of a rough start... but...

"I was more than willing to admit that I had an attraction to Hanna. When I met her for the first time in grade school, I knew there was something about her that made her different to me. And at such a young age, I didn’t quite understand exactly what it meant to be in love. Call me creepy, but watching Hanna sleeping in our dorm room just puts a smile on my face."

Still got a lot of work I need to do with it. xD Since I haven't really written anything in ages, I'm a bit rusty.
