Maybe you've heard the news, but in E3 Nintendo provided a trailer for the fourth Smash Bros. game, currently just titled "Super Smash Smash Bros." and will be launching on both 3DS and Wii U.
E3 Trailer: Warning: New Challengers Approaching!
(I chose this one because it matches how the video was initially broadcast at the end of Nintendo's 40-minute E3 Direct.
Nintendo's official channels split it into two parts)

Anyone hyped for this? To summarize (and/or spoil) the news so far:

It will be both on the 3DS and Wii U. 3DS will feature a cel-shaded graphical style to make spotting characters easier on the smaller screen.

New Challenger: Animal Crossing's Villager! He has a number of zany items to use in his attacks, and also features the ability to grab/stow then use projectiles fired from other characters.

New Challenger: Mega Man! He fights almost exclusively with his trademark Mega Buster (the charged shot is actually his forward Smash attack and not a special move) and assorted Robot Master weapons, including the fan-favorite Metal Blade. Also features a Mega Man-themed battle arena and . . . Yellow Devil?

New Challenger: Wii Fit Trainer. An unusual choice, but she seems to have a decent array of moves.

3DS version features extra stages based on handheld games (Spirit Tracks, Nintendogs) while the Wii U version features extra stages based on console games.[/list:u] _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Of all the fighters I could think of in the next Smash Bros, I never expected Wii Fit Trainer, or Villager. MegaMan is pretty fitting, but the other two just boogle my mind.
Call me back when either Meta Knight, Nightmare, Wario, Ganondorf, or Krystal gets announced.
Still, if I do get a Wii U, I'll get the next Smash Bros. |
