I don't think the SQL error is your fault.

As for using HTML, even if you write in all th HTML tags, the tags are useless if you save the file using a proprietary format (e.g. AppleWorks document), because proprietary formats still include a lot of invisible formatting and supplementary information (author name, program version, etc.).

HTML files are nothing more than plain-text-format files with HTML tags strewn throughout. I'm not familiar with Mac OS principles (Lasher?) but you should be able to find some sort of plain-text option (or plain-text editor, like Windows's Notepad) that you can use to write real HTML files.

The SQL error is partly your fault

Appleworks file format is not supported. Like the upload page says, you have to save your document into one of the 4 formats that IS supported. Microsoft word (doc), Rich text format (rtf), html, or plain unformatted ascii text (txt).

These are common formats that any word processor should be able to save in 1 or more format of. I'm sure Appleworks will be able to save as unformatted text, but this will loose most of your formatting (bold and stuff, but paragraphs will probebly be in tact). It also very likely will support at the least RTF format if not doc.

Its been years since I have used Appleworks so I can't give you specific instructions, but there should be a save as option under file menu (or maybe exoprt) that will allow you to save in one of these formats.

If not, try pasting into simpletext/teachtext and saving from there. Maybe Lasher can give more specific help on this, I haven't used a Mac much in years.
