Here's a topic for those who like to compare the characters and storylines of books they've read. I'll start off with two book I found kind of similar.


James and the Giant Peach
Name: James Henry Trotter
Lives: England
Time: Around the time period two piece rotary phones were used
Background: His parents died when he was a boy, so he was forced to live with his two aunts that keeped him locked up in a small cold room and mistreated him. He had no friends until he escaped.
Happy Ending: Went to New York because of a peach enchanted by magic crocodile tounges brewed in a witch's skull, yadda yadda yadda.

Harry Potter
Name: Harry Potter
Father's Name: James Harry Potter
Lives: England
Time: Around the time period one piece rotary phones were used
Background: His parents died when he was a baby, so he was forced to live with his aunt and uncle that keeped him locked up in a small cupboard and mistreated him. He had no friends until he escaped.
Happy Ending: Went to a school to learn magic with witches and wizards.

Not only does James Henry Trotter have a similar name too James Harry Potter, but they both lived in England around the same time period. Weird, eh?

I thought James was around earlier than Harry? I'm thinking, maybe 40s or 50s.

I know. I said James and Harry's father probably lived around the same time. That would make James and Harry about a generation apart.
