Yes I know that a lot of people will say that the 128bit age is the golden age of gaming, but that would be the easy way out... Me I was at my gaming peak from the 8 to 64bit.. Though I own a Game cube and the games are great graphics and all... It just does not seem quite the same as the good old days when gaming was simple and fresh and I dont even play my Cube that often. Though I find myself on the PC more then consoles anyway. Well I will leave this up for people to speculate and decide which age was the golden age of gaming! Darn.... Good graphics and fancy panty online games have spoiled us rotten! lol Razz

ps: some ways I regret selling the old SNES... Oh well at least I have my trusty Gamboy Advance. ^_^

It was a hard choice, but I choose the 64bit era. Of course, that was when pokemon (ugh) was popular, but hey, Orcania of time set the record of being the most pre-ordered game ever. Rolling eyes

I won't vote here, because I can't really point out a 'golden age of videogames.' Every 'era' has its masterpieces and its turkeys, so I can't really say I'm able to choose.

i'll have to go with....32-64 bit. I greww up starting off with the original NES, but i didn't really get into games all that much until the N64 came out. That is when i hit my gaming prime. Now with the PS2, Xbox and so on, its more like testing my skills that i first developed during my time with my beloved N64

Can't get enough of my 8Bit classics. Too bad I don't have a system anymore. Sad

Well, I never played any old style gaming systems, save Fanicom, and I thought the graphics were horrible on it. Only reason I got it was to play Star Ocean, the first one. I'm obssesed with Star Ocean. Razz Anyway, so since I didn't play anything other than the Gamecubes and PS2 and stuff I didn't really know if they were good or not.

I think we have numerous golden ages for video games or one Golden Age and one Silver Age.

Btw, I'm a bit intrigued than Atari 2600, Mattel's Intellivision and Colecovision aren't listed in the pool.

I say the Golden Age was the 8bit days. That's where video games started after all.

I like the 16 bit games the best. Some of the games were short but really fun to play. Others were long and took a while to beat. I don't really care about graphics as long as the game is good.

Definately 16-bit, can't beat the early 90's classics. Super Nintendo was and still is the funnest.

I'd have to go with the 32 bit/64 bit era. I think that's what brought gaming to the masses and really got people to start taking an interest in the gaming industry.

Should've been an option for the real classics. I had an Atari 2600 and that had some great games. Mario Brothers, Centipede, Empire Strikes Back, you get the drift.

although I love my PS2 i'd have to go with 32/64 bit as well otherwise without the Psone it wouldn't have been possible and c'mon all the final fantasy's and resident evils on the PS one-classics.

This is really hard...

16-BIT = Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, etc.
32-BIT = Final Fantasy 7, Breath Of Fire IV, Metal Gear Solid etc.

While they're both great eras, I'll go with 32-BIT, simply because the 3 aforementioned games are 3 of my favourite.
