Pictures Of The Hour

Just out of curiosity: What does it take for a pic to appear in the "Pictures of the hour"? Or what causes the pic to appear in the section?

[Stratadrake]

"Pictures of the hour" are randomly selected from all G~PG-13 pictures on the site, and they change every hour. Hence the name.

Due to javascript coding, they only appear on screen resolutions larger than 800x600.

The original "five random pictures" took a lot of server resources because it genreated a new search query each time. I seem to recall suggesting to denis a "Today's Random Pictures" idea where it'd do one search query per 24 hours and keep the results cached between each query, but it seems he one-upped it by making an hourly feature out of it.
