I heard it mentioned in concern of the recent bug in the database, when all the posts, pics, etc were lost. Denis told Strata to check his cache if his post were still there...what's a cache?

A "cache", in the general definition, is a memory area that stores data for quick reference, usually data that would take a lot of time or processes to retrieve otherwise.

In the context of Internet browsers, the "cache" stores copies of recent HTML files and images so that when you load a new page, it doesn't have to go fetch the images & stuff from the remote server like it had to do the first time, resulting in quicker load times for the page, particularly on slower connections.
