Just out of interest, I was wondering which format of The Phantom of the Opera drew you personally most to Erik (if at all). The book (Leroux) or the films. (Chaney or Butler - either/or.)
I've only seen the Chaney and Butler performances and read Leroux's....sadly not as of yet managed to get my paws on Susan Kay's. For one thing...I have no money. heh.
Anyway, for me, it would be the book because even though it's written in a kind of journal way - looking back on events, it gave an insight into Erik that kept me hooked like a fish the whole way through. I finished the book on the bus on the way home one evening and started crying! It was weird though, because I was so caught up in the ending, I didn't notice I was crying till a woman asked me if I was ok. lol.
BUT, I won't reveal the ending incase anyone here hasn't read the book and therefore won't say if I was crying because I was sad or happy. Meh.
Over to you guys.

PS: Happy birthday to me....for tomorrow. Heh.
