That's very nice work!

The Good:
- colors look fairly impressive
- the background shading really gives a good atmosphere of the scene (which looks like a spooky one)
- the details on the clothes are nicely done as well

Room For Improvement:
- the eyes look a little dead, fact too dead. a few hints of white on the lenses will give it the effect of slightly watery eyes. something to emphasize the slight fear that the character seems to be feeling.

That's about it. The eyes were the only nitpics I had.

Overall a very nice pic. I'd give it a 4/5.

Now, here's mine:

Mazin-Gurl Z

Drew this for another 'fun-draw' on another BBS. I was originally working on another piece, but I screwed it up at the last minute. In a bid to post a second entry, this came up. ;)

 Wow, this was pinned? Shows how much I pay attention.

Ok, the drawing...

You colored it! Laughing Extra points awarded right there. ^_^

I like the hands, the suit is awesome, good clean line art right here. One thing to look into, her left leg (the one that's raised) the perspective seems a little odd. It's got this dough-boy effect going on. I think you should go in and rework it. BUt yeah, awesome drawing.

Well, what could be better than getting some critique on a peice that is still in progress? Figure I could get some good feed back here, the roommates aren't much help.

This thread has been pinned for... oh, about five or six pages now. :woot:

But considering how popular it is, maybe I should've pinned the "Rate" thread instead of the "Critique" thread?

Anyway, Jay, about yours... you say that's still In-Progress? Wow, I can't tell.

But I do notice...

Stronger Points:
- Great eyes and expression on the face.

Weaker Points:
- The perspective on her left leg (ankle area) seems a little weird. Maybe it's because her right foot is facing towards the camera at the same angle as her left foot, but it seems as if her feet are too far apart when compared to her knees.
- I'm no fan of seeing ears positioned that high on the head. Style issue, though, no comments I can give on it.

Other:
* saves opinions about scantily-furred anthros for another day *

Overall? Your comic-esque style is hard to fault. 4 of 5.

I seriously need to get working on drawings again. Until then...:

Very Happy

Technically she's a khajiit, a suthay-raht named Rei'Shivah. She's an Elder Scrolls character of mine, from the rp I did about a year ago, Hymn of War.

I usually look upon scantily-clad furry anthros with disdain, but she's not a cat-girl, she's a khajiit, and there are distinct differences; one of them being she's not a Japanese sex-fetish. Razz

Anyways, ooh, bright and shiny. I'm so easily amused...

I like the animal form better than the anthro form. Maybe its because the anthro form has its back turned so that it just looks like the animal form rearing up on its hind legs, only not quite proportioned. I like how you redrew the pokemon to an actual realistic version, almost makes all the hate I feel towards those little things go away too. ^_^

A 3/5.

Ok, here is one of my latest for you guys to rip into. Give it your best shot, ya pansies. Razz

Strong Points:
Not an easy pose to do, but you pulled it off.
I like the shoes... *stares*
The colouring is great
Love the expression

Weak Points:
Her head looks like it shouldn't be held up by a neck that thin.
The shiny sword looks a bit..not shiny enough (Oh, aren't I articulate?)

Overall:
4/5

Critique this! *cringe*
Here's mine:

Strong Points:
The clothes
Detail on/in the eyes

Weak points:
A bit two-dimensional--try rounding out the shape of the face and adding more shading
Angle on the full-body image seems a bit weird

Overall: 3/5

Strong points: The concept. WTF? It's just...mind boggling. XD The tones fit the picture well. Fairly simple.

Weaker points: Could use a little more, say detail, and a background. Doesn't have to be a tedious, well detailed background, but maybe just a soft shade of color (or course matching with the picture's color tones) and a shadow for the...thing Laughing Helps lower the amount of white space, which sometimes can be a tad bit distracting.

Finished this today, or quite recently...or whichever. Was mainly a rather surreal experimentation. (don;t think this picture has been approved at fac yet or not Laughing )

Strong points:
The background. The colors are great, and I love the trees. Great vertical..movement, I suppose one would call it. This picture has great texture overall.

Weak points: The hair seems a bit flat to me--perhaps there could be a bit of warmer color in some of it.

And for mine...hmm, ah...this one at least has a background color, which I do think improves it. http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures.php?pid=238447

Strong points: Concept (gotta love the phantom!)

Technique - the ink and watercolor looks wonderful

A nice simple background that fits the picture

Weak points: His arms seem a bit off, like there should be some variation in width. Also his hand sort of looks like he's making a fist instead of actually holding something.

I like how you made one of his eyes sort of puffy and bloodshot, but the other one doesn't have the same effect.

Overall I like it! ^_^

Now hear ye fans of Tim Burton, and critique this!

Who were you again?

since you didn't give the other person a critique, and because I need to go to sleep, no comment.

7/10

You want critique? K...

Personally I think the dude(is it a dude?)shuld keep his pants on. Especially with a snake in his bed...

Overall the coloring is very good, I'll give you that. The porportions are good except that foot. Good for a made up character picture. Interesting coloring pencils. Looks great.

I give it 8/10

Strong points: Good coloring

Interesting armor concept

I like the sort of inky bit in the hair, it gives a really nice effect.

Weak points: This might be intentional, but you might want to define his legs more. Like I said, he might be wearing samurai pants or something, so I could be wrong.

His arms and hands also seem out of proportion, too small for his body. Try making his arms a bit longer and his hands a bit bigger.

Now if it could be done, I'd really like something constructive on this one. Hit me hard, you know you want to! Razz

Very well done!

The Good:
- Shading is great! I'll agree with the comment you received, and say it's one of the best shading work I've seen so far on FAC.
- Excellent detail work. The chain and pendant, the ruffles, and especially her hair.

Room For Improvement:
- I only have one nitpick. I hope you take this with a grain of salt coz I am not sure if the 'original' looked the same. My issue is with the placement of her face. Looking at the drawing, it appears that her face is a little 'off' from the left. It appears like the left side (or the right side of HER face) is swollen or something. If the face was moved a few mm's to the left, it would have been perfect!

Overall, it's a great pic! Very impressive pencil work. Save for the slight 'off-ness' of the face, this would have been perfect!

4.5/5
Here's mine.

Ghost In The Shell fan art. It's basic line art coz I am having the fool thing colored.

**Edit In:

Here's the updated version of my drawing. Now in full-fricken-photshop-goodness!!!!!!

Good points: Colors and tones match well with the picture. Proportions look like they're correct as well. =D

One thing that stands out to me is the way the old man's (forget his name...) arm looks a little weird in the picture, or it just seems too distracting. Probably too late anyways, but I would move his arm down so he's holding the window, so it looks like he's observing something rather than about to make a speech in the wrong place. XD

http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-355286.html -some new thing.

I left a comment on your pic. Just so you know, the first time I submitted the comment, only a little bit showed up. So I deleted it and rewrote it. I'll say this again, just like in the comment, you did a very nice job on that pic. You should be proud of the work you can do. I'm quite envious of people who are as talented as you are ^_^

Ok, now for a pic of mine. Well, no one seems to like commenting on any of my new stuff anymore. I'd like to say you can choose but I'll give a link to this one anyway. If you're a DBZ fan, then you might like this one.

I'd say a 4 for the style-but anatomically (sp?)
-the bellybutton is sunk to far in and to large
-the muscles of the abdomin part above and below the navel, not on either side of it
-the toes are OK turned in, but are turned in to far, they need to be rotated so the toes are more foreward.
-The waist is not necisarily to thin, but on somebody rail-thin like this the top of the hips would be visable as squared shapes, not connecting at an angle to the rest of the body-that angle is formed by soft tissue and fat, which she doesn't seem to have.
-Because of the lighting, your eye is directed right to her breasts. I'd tone the highlights down a bit, since it detracts from the rest of her pose and expression.
If you want to keep the toes all the way in, the pose needs to be changed-the only way to stand with your toes pointing at eachother forces you to spread your hips apart, the knees won't touch eachother. Its possible if you're really, really flexible, but almost impossible to maintain-the toes also will not be close together.
This looks like a surprised/horrified/disbelieving pose, I can see the together knees as the "staying up by leaning the legs against eachother" idea. To increase the appeal of the pose itself, I would either drop the arms to the sides and have them hang there, or spread them more and raise the arms themselves-this would be more dynamic.
^.^
On first glance, though, I like this picture. I like the style in general.

*blush* sorry, that comment was written when there was only one pic up but i didn't actually get to post it untill now.
Here's the criteque for the one right above me (sort of, anyway)
The pic looks good as far as layout goes. I'd suggest extending the rail she's leaning on past the top of his head on the other side, and perhaps adding two support posts to both make it look stronger and give the picture a vague frame (if you add them on both sides of the outside of the picture). Just to make it look more together, I'd move his head upward as well, putting it closer to what is the center of the piece.
Aside from that, it looks good to me.

um...lets see, I don't have anyhing at the moment that I need feedback on, so I'll leave the art to the next person.
