He just put the ; ) between the

I'd give yours a 3/5 for creativity, but it seems to lack real definition and dimention. Maybe if you were to darken areas and add brighter highlights with a white pencil it might stand out more, but is really do like the concept behind the entire image!

New picture... uploaded like half an hour ago---> clicky

The broken images lately are due to multi-server integration (FAC is growing too big for just one these days).

Jhonenfreak's picture never received its critique, did it?

So allow me.

http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-226394.html
Strong Points:
- Very nice, graphic-design style. Simple shapes and a limited color palette are the same tricks used to produce real poster ads.

Weak Points:
- I hate shrimp :P

Overall:
Really, I can find no faults with it. 5 of 5.[/list:u]

Now, for yours, Blackbird:

http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures.php?pid=192029
Strong Points:
- Simple, semi-anime style is very easy to read and interpret.
- Perfect shading/detail for the hair.
- Good detail on the flower petals.

Weak Points:
- Could benefit from some more contrast.
- Hair strikes me as being a little "gelled" -- the hair hanging down in front of her shoulders, for example, should pretty much hang DOWN, and not at an angle.
- Where's the neck?

Overall:
- Nice, on the low end of 4/5 territory.[/list:u]Now, for something a little different. Critique this...

That's right, do a compare/contrast type of critique.

I think it goes without saying that #2 is a whole lot better then #1

Not that there is anything wrong with number one. It very detailed and has excelent coloring. But when it's compared to #2 it looks a bit statue-like, there's no sense of movement. #2 is a much more dynamic pose and angle, he looks alive. I notice the esyes look a bit larger and livlier as well. There's a lot of expression in them, something the first one lacked as well.

Dg-sama's pic:

http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-229233.html

(doing strata format)

Strong Points:
-Good coloring (very good color sceme [sp?]) all the colors match and blend well together
-Very good shading/shining.
-Smooth feeling to it, carefree, happy, easy.

Weak points:
-Not really feeling the whole water thing. If he had just been in the water, his hair should be wet and driping, driping water, etc.
-Where did those bubbles come from. Oo; Is he moving his tail?

-----

My favorite picture out of my whole gallery:

Aw, the pose is very cute. I like the facial expressions, and that figure on the chain amuses me. The tails also add an interesting element of flow/movement to the picture, although you could have made the lines thinner so that they didn't detract from the characters' faces.

What's that coming out of the taller character's (I can't tell if they're male or female, or what, gomen!) back? At first I thought it was a ponytail, and then I thought that maybe it was a wing... I think it's a wing. I guess that if it's a ponytail, it shouldn't stick out to the side like that, but fall according to the rules of gravity (although I guess anime characters' hair usually ignores those rules). And if it's a wing it should be more... uhm... wing-shaped. Right now, it looks kind of scraggly and none-too-useful.

The shorter characters' tail also looks like it was pasted right on top of its clothes - the shirt should probably be lying on top of the tail, not behind it. I see that you made the attempt with a clothing wrinkle, but the bottom of the shirt is still too low, so I'm not convinced.

Fingers on the tall character could use some more definition, shorter character's upper arm could be a bit shorter... Meh, picky little proportional things. Overall, it's quite good, although I'm not sure where the taller character's legs are. Is he wearing a long coat of some sort?

Sorry for ripping that apart, but this is a critique thread, after all. Well, hopefully my criticism was constructive. *sighs* Hm. I guess I ought to link to something now... How about this?
And if it's a wing it should be more... uhm... wing-shaped. Right now, it looks kind of scraggly and none-too-useful.
\

Not supposed to be used. That's why it's crappy. He's a werewolf =^-^= gave him the wing to add some detail to his clothes.
Is he wearing a long coat of some sort?
Yeah, ^^;
The annotomy- the legs...the girls are too big, the guys are to small
I'm guessing your spelling error was for the body parts right? 1) Both characters are wearing different kind of pants. Girl = Big baggy Guy= not baggy
-the heads are too small
? small? Thought they fit their bodies fine
---

Did someone do choas's yet? Oo; Uneasy

okay here's mine
The Good:
- nice drawing style
- cartoony, but very nice proportions

The Not-So-Good:
- goatee looks like spew at first glance

Overall, it's nicely done. It'll work well with a valentines card!

Here's mine:

Babes & Blades: The Valkyrie & Centauress.

The line art is done, there are no shadings (like most of my work) since I'm practicing on this piece with Photoshop.
