as said in the topic, I have started working on shading in GIMP. If you can give me any tips they're welcome. Oh and if you can find some lighting tutorials, they would be most helpful. Thankies. Heres a few links to some of my works!

if the option is availible, you might want to smudge it. don't know if GIMP has that though. might want to make it a bit darker too.

A low opacity/flow brush usually works better than smudge/blur.

Why are you worrying about shading? Shading is fine, go work on lineart.

He asked for tips. Tips were given. You're oversensitive.

There's no point about worrying about mediocre shading when the lineart is bad.

But Nazis don't live under bridges. Perhaps Nazi's do. I admit I don't know much about Nazi's.

Edit: Did Sarah just call us Nazis? Was this a personal attack? Shall I report it to Strata? Maybe I should.

My great uncle was killed by Japanese Imperial soldiers allied to the Nazi's. Her comments are offensive to me.

Your a grammer Nazi. >_> so dont deny that.

Also don't come right out and say "Work on your lineart it is bad" be gentle for christ's sake. Really stop being blunt. SOME PEOPLE DONT LIKE IT!

I think Thumper's quote from Bambi works rather well here:

"If you don't have something nice to say. Don't say anything at all."

Hey, yeah Hitler, don't march into Poland like that, they might not like it.

And if you please, could you stop consolidating Austria as a new German province? Thank you.

You're doing a really good job, yuai! You're a lot better than I am, hahaha ^^

I want to ask...have you considered changing the line width to highlight important areas in the picture? One of my friends is considering something like this - maybe you can work on it and add it to your style. I can see that you changed the linewidth to thinner for Dratini's gem, but other than that, you keep it consistent. Maybe you can figure out how to get it to work...

"There's no point about worrying about your dinner when you don't have anything to eat for lunch."

"It's important that she be responsible when taking care of a child."

See that? it's called a subjunctive sentence. It's a timeless tense that is universally applied. I didn't say that her lineart was bad, or her coloring was mediocre. I said that there's no point worrying bout something if there is something grander you need to worry about.

You are the one who put words in my mouth. The tip I said in my second post here APPLIES TO EVERYBODY.

Seriously, go back to 3rd grade and learn to read.
