Hey, has anybody seen VH1's "I Love the 90's?" (Or 80's and 70's). Personally I think it's one of the funniest things I've seen, I love it! Hal Sparks is the MAN! ^_^

Does anyone really need to remember the 90s? It's been 4.5 years, how nostalgic can anyone be? I understand looking back at things that happened 30 years ago, but I love the 90s is just whoring the concept until people are tired of it.

I love the 80s (Version 1.0) was great. A nice little flashback to all the biggest trends. I've seen it more times than I care to admit, I loved a lot of the people who commented, and for the most part it was well done. There were some things I'd have liked them to talk about that they didn't and some of their info/organization was...odd. I'm not sure why they talked specifically about Poison in '87, but s'not a big deal.

I love the 70s was alright. I'm not big on the 70s, but it was still interesting.

I Love The 80s: Strikes Back (version beat-the-dead-horse). Nice to see some of the stuff they left out, but it was an obvious cashing in on the popularity of the first one.

I Love The 90s... Why? No one misses the 90s. Hell, we're basically for all intensive purposes still in the 90s fad. Teen pop, nu metal, and rap. Sure there's some things that are interesting to see again, but not for nostalgic value. They're just things that are still recent enough in our memories to think "hey, I remember that..." but you don't miss it. Anything you were overly fond of in the 90s, chances are you still remember it. Whereas if you were a fan of something from 1982, you may not be as current with it.

I loved the series when it was just I Love the 80s. And not because I do love the 80s and because they used Bret for the Babes of 198_ and all that, but because it really was a new concept. And that's why it was a success. A new show coupled with nostalgia is guaranteed to be popular for awhile. But I linked an article about the "new direction of VH1" months ago, saying they're going to be going in a "new nostalgic direction" because that's what their ratings say people want. Look at the 3 subsequent shows. They're going to beat this nostalgia idea into the ground until people can't stand it anymore. I really wouldn't care if it didn't mean they got rid of the shows that actually involved music (BTM, Where Are They Now, Pop Up Video, etc.).

I'm disliking VH1 more and more. Then just when I really can't stand them, they go and redeem themselves with something like "When Metal Ruled the World" putting Taime Downe, George Lynch, and all my boys I haven't seen on television in years back. Damn them. Evil. (There's people out there who miss seeing Taime Downe on television. Think anyone really misses Nick Carter yet? No. 10-year-old girls don't count.)
