the Meaning of life eh.. I don't think there really is an actual meaning. Though the idea is controversial, I believe life on Earth was a major mistake. Then begs the question; "If a tree falls in a forest and no-one is there to hear it; does it make a sound?" The same can be applied to space/time etc.. If intelligent life hadn't existed, what would the point of reality be? A bunch of rocks flying around space.. if they exist that is.. It's difficult to think about how old everything (space/time/every-friggin'-thing ever) really is.. Or even it's state when it began.. or even before it began.. It truly boggles the mind.. There must have been a beginning.. but then comes other questions like "How, why, who and when and even.. what was it like even [i]before[/i] that.. But.. even thinking into the past, how about looking at the 'present'. All matter is made up of atoms. Atoms consist of protons, electrons and neutrons... Protons and Neutrons are made up of 'things' called 'Quarks'. But what are these quarks made up of? Some String theorists say quarks and electrons are not particles at all.. but are multi-dimensional entities called "Branes" which exist as tiny loops of string.. Hence the string theorist's name... Branes are said to need at least 10 or 11 dimensions to move in for them to even exist.. which is why this subject is only touched upon by experts in the field... You have to be a good philosopher to try and make out what's really going on around us, in us and to us and it really does get complicated.
I don't see a real 'meaning' of life.. as if there is some motive that was pre-determined for us to perhaps follow to live a good life.. if indeed we [i]are [/i]living.. But more like.. humans/intelligent life should take the opportunity we have seeing as we [b]are[/b], infact, intelligent and try to find out as much about ourselves and everything else as possible.. which is pretty much what we're doing anyway.. researchers and scientists do it day in and day out.. but then.. for what?? Some are motivated by the drive to push mankind forwards and to discover new possibilties and some are there to gain money. Yes money is important today but being at such a high state of importance, you'd think money would be past them and they would wish to help and create and give to the world..
Gettin pretty philosphical here too.. but really..
On the subject earlier of what happened before 'The Big Bang' etc.. I seem to begin thinking about Matrix style scenarios.. Don't know why.. It just really appeals to me and I think I use that idea as an excuse because I have no clue what is beyond the beggining.....
Ah well.. as long as no Agent Smith plunges his hand into my chest I'll be pretty happy ^_^

Maybe I was exaggerating (however yuo spell that word. ) about being sued. Well, life is about religion. I agree with born2bequeen, that it is also about spiritual perfection. But the main reason we all live is to live for are creator, (whoever you believe he/she is) and we serve him/her. If we do a good job with that, we die happily and go to heaven to have eternal life. ^_^ |
