Well writing this to like let ppl say wut they think could help the site. We all see some probs everyday. Like the ques get over filled up and not enough ppl to bring it down, ppl adding useless sections that nobody uses, misplacing pic's in the wrong subjects..............etc...........
Everybody has their own suggestions and some might even be good to put on so.........give some.
Well i kinda got one, like some of the approval panel takes shifts so that it might balance it out. Also maybe having ppl in different time zones, theres loads from all countries that makes it harder to keep it down. Like loads are from like some part of USA or Canada but u got ppl like me that live in England thats like 6 hours time difference. _________________ http://www.fanart-central.net/profile-Kes.php- Profile.

Shifts are impossible. AP is volunteers only, so we really can't say "you have to approve from 3pm to 6pm". It's all based on when people have the time.
We're getting more people. Yes there are some from other countries, but it's all based on who's most active and who has proven themselves to be trustworthy candidates. At no time will we pick anyone based on their ability to be online if we don't believe they can do the job properly and have shown themselves to be responsible, active members of the site who can get along with already existing team members.
Until users are waiting two weeks to be rejected for a matter of opinion as it is on some other sites, the AP is doing fine. The goal is not to have everything approved in under an hour. If it gets backed up, it gets backed up. But having people take their time and do the job well is far more important than just getting the number down. It won't kill anyone to have to wait even a day to see their image up. In the long run it gives them more exposure and makes the site a much better place.
There is nothing wrong with the AP that isn't already being fixed. There have been multiple discussions about it, and most "ideas" are completely impractical for it being a volunteer position. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Those are issues for the CC (category cleanup) crew, and last I heard, the CC is a volunteer occupation just like the AP is.
When a new sub-category is created, existing pictures that should belong in that sub-category aren't moved there automatically, because it takes a person to make that sort of decision, and the CC people have their own busy schedules to attend to.

Users can no longer make a category without it being approved, though not all silly cats have been deleted yet. It's been a bigger issue to clean up the popular sections than get rid of ridiculous ones that only have 10-20 pics in them. And in the wrong categories, well, that's what AP is for as well as CC. And on some level each individual user moving their own work as new categories are created, especially when it comes to things like original characters. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. All requested categories go to Lasher before they're actually created, including the box where the person making the request states why the category is needed. It keeps useless categories like the ones that used to be made from being added, like "_______'s art!". _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. chances are if you want to make a category for your own anime/manga, it won't get approved.
This happens in rare situations where someone's original story is popular enough on the site where it's getting fanart (like the "Ray" comic by Pienemien)
and you need to have at least 25 pictures or so before a sub-category/category can be created (said Denis)
o.o we had a lot of people making categories for their anime/manga a while back (when you could make a category just like that) and then they left the site after putting like 3 pictures up. T.T so you can see why now it's managed.
It's hard to find stuff with messed up cats. |

Hmmm yea see ure point, there did used to be alot. And is a good way to deal with it, coz of loads of ppl adding themselves to the site, especially in the last year.
And plus the sites always been nice with the way it is, it was good over a year ago, a year ago and now. But its changed alot, and as the expressions go 'things can only get better' and 'theres always room to improve', like artwork, lol.
I only opened the subject just incase there was ppl that wanted to express something that they think could improve in someway. _________________ http://www.fanart-central.net/profile-Kes.php- Profile.
