Read the FAQ (section on formats)

and make the pixel size no wider that about 600 pixels and make it 96 dpi

if you do those things there is no way the image should be over size.

And always save your images as a JPEG, because you can usually get good compression without losing much detail.

It happens occasionally, when it does please clarify what the problem is that you're having and maybe we can offer a solution. Also, there are some problems that we simply can't wave our hand and say "Voil, problem solved!" (such as the login problem), sometimes all we can do is offer an explanation about what's going on and some sympathy.

Then it's most likely the wrong format. Make sure you're saving as a jpg, gif, or png file.

Improbable! Surprised No JPEG weighing in at 600px or less should be near 300kb in size, even at low compression/high quality settings....

Hmm... what are the dimensions of your image, in pixels? It's pretty important to make sure that you're measuring the image in pixels, and not fancier units like "inches".

Just how small is "small"? If you can't find the pixel dimensions or filesize of your image, then you have a larger problem than not being able to upload it to FAC....

HELP!! I conpressed it enough, and I did every thing right demension-wise.

When I tried to upload to to here, it said the following message:
The file you uploaded doesn't appear to be a valid image format for use on the internet. Type it is reported as: application/x-macbinary
See, I'm a mac-user. Mac OS X. I'm absolutely positive that I have it on either JPG or PNG. For some reason, GIF is diabled, so I can't use it. <_< <_<

Please reply ASAP!!

Dark_Magi, try opening and saving it in another program.

If that doesn't fix it, maybe Lasher can help, she is a Mac user.

great. I'll ask Lasher.

But I'm just asking: What application should I convert it to? if you know. I already tried PREVIEW and ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 5.0
