Before I bust his balls too bad, I do like Dokken and Don. Not nearly the same without George, but what group is the same when they lose their most talented member?
But my purpose for wasting board space on Dokken is this little gem. No argument that Don was never an amazing live singer, but this is...well you have to hear it for yourself. The band sounds great, Don sounds-- not great. The two defenses thrown out by rabid Dokken fans are "he always sounds that way when he's into it and workin' the crowd" and "he always sounds rough in the beginning and uses Kiss of Death to warm up his voice". Well then someone needs to tell him to warm up BEFORE the show and not fuck up the opening song. I mean really, he changes the melody to notes he can actually hit and is all around flat. Poor Don. Gotta love that chorus.

I don't doubt he does sound better later in the show, but what moron uses the opening song (with difficult notes, at that) to warm up? Hell, sing Kiss of Death in the mirror ten minutes before the show if you have to. There's a reason singers warm up before the show, and it's so they don't humiliate themselves by sounding like shit the minute they walk on stage. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C.
