How Do You Shrink A Picture So You Could Post It

I want to post a picture but it won't let me because it's too big. I want to shrink it but I don't know how...Does anyone know how to shrink pictures?

Most likely the problem is it's in the wrong format, but adjusting the dimensions would be a good idea, too. Open it in an image program (MSPaint, photoshop, painter, etc.) and look for something like "image size" under the options. When it's a good size (no more than 600 pixels in one dimension for easy viewing) click file>save as and there should be some kind of drop down menu to pick what file type you'd like it to be. Jpg, gif, and png are accepted on this site.
