Alrighty, here is the rough draft of the rules/guidelines.

Who the Heck Are You?

After a lot of discussion in the fan fiction section, it has been decided that there will be a subforum for fan fiction, much like there is for fan art. Being a fanfic author myself, I and many other people love our reviewers, and yet many of us want a boarder, more in depth review in which we can improve our own writing.
We are here to help fan fiction authors to get better, whether it be grammar wise or content wise. This is the place to get in depth criticism and tips on how to improve on your fanfics, because lets face it, no ones perfect.
So if youre interested, feel free to post your fanfics. ^_^

Rules for the Critique Team: (note: Subject to Change)

-No flaming. Constructive Criticism only, please. We dont want any fights to break out.

-There is no limit to how many people can critique a fic. Its better to have a few varying opinions than one.

-Concentrate on grammar, spelling, and content.

-Do not be bias. If there is a pairing/plot that does not suit you, or if there is a certain genre that does not appeal to you, do not comment. This is not to be mistaken with a plot that needs some constructive criticism or help.

-Post your reviews in the thread started by the author. Use quotes to point out parts that need to be improved or fixed.

Rules for the Submitters: (Subject to Change)

-BE POLITE! If you cannot handle criticism, there is no reason why you should be posting here. Were only trying to help you guys out.

-Before posting your fic, first fill out this form, and paste it onto your post before your link/fic.

1: Title
2: Rating (and why it is so)
3: Category: Anime/Manga/Movie/etc that it is based on
4: Genre
5: Type
6: Short Summary of what your fic is about.

Take this as an example:

1. Title: Beautiful in Red
2. Rating: R (for violence, gore, dark theme, and adult situations)

3. Category: Yu Yu Hakusho

4. Genre: Romance, Action/Adventure, Hentai, Supernatural, Fantasy

5. Type: Original Fanfiction

6: An original fanfiction that follows Kurama, Hiei, and the half dragon Terentia (original character) in their journey to stop a ruthless killer set loose in the demon town of Sumire.

-Provide a link for your story or paste a chapter in your post. Fics will be reviewed per chapter.

-If your fic contains a lemon scene, place the appropriate warning.

-Be patient. If you have a 24 chapter fic that is getting reviewed, its going to take.

-Post one fanfic per week. (Subject to change)

Rights of Submitters:

-You dont have to take all the suggestions that are given (although generally it is a good idea).

-If a critique member asks you a question about the context/grammar, explain yourself, they may change their option if they know what youre talking about.

Critique Team!

Now, a few things need to be decided:

1: do we allow original stories?

2: Do we have specializations? Like for example have one person check spelling and another content?

3: Do we allow poems and the like?

4: Do we give a description of the genres and types of fics the authors can catagorize them as?

5: Do the members of the critique panel state which fanfics they can read?

And finally, we need a panel. Does everyone agree to these rules? Or shall they be changed?

Alrighy, I tweaked the rules.

So far we have...two people for the Critique Panel. I think we need about five. Should I make a separate thread in for this?

i of course am joining, i was the one who started a Constructive Critism thread and the whole idea of the critique panel in the first place! Laughing

awesome. ^_^ All I need you guys to do is tell me which animes/mangas/etc you are familar with and I will post the rules in the Critique panel thread, and we can get back to bitching about FF.net and MM.org.

i'm familiar with quite a few animes, and don't mind at all reading original stories. official character/OC pairings annoy me a little though.

I just got an email from FF.net, saying it removed my story (I was gonna remove it anyway. It was just a stupid PWP that I was going to discontinue. Heh, my fault really, I should have looked at the rules.). I think I've been suspended from uploading fics for a while, but I'm not sure if I have been banned. This is what the e-mail said:

Naw, it's my fault that I didn't read all of the rules. I didn't know whether my PWP was considered a script (yes, that kind, I deserve the embarrassment). But I really, [i]really[/i] wish they had some kind of warning system beforehand. I would have certainly taken it down.

But thanks anyway. I've been restricted until August 7th. At least it will give me some time to catch up to all chapters I need to do. Hopefully I'll get a few reviews on MM.org and FAC.

*nods* I haven't had any problems with FF.net's authority system but, honestly, they need a warning system. None of the act-first stuff. And can't they at least take the time to actually type up the e-mail instead of sending an auto-composed message?

Ah, not nearly as bad as Warner Bros. message boards. It was a small, close group of people on a very ignored little section until some high and mighty bitch who'd made all of 2 posts six months earlier started ranting and raving about how "sick and inappropriate" we were. "Suspended" for 4 years. Yeah, 'cause I'm gonna wait four years then come back "Wee, I can post again!"

Then everyone else was "suspended" one by one, and we all came back under different names. They kept suspending me over and over. Guess it didn't help I kept poking 'em with a stick by creating about 20 new names one after the other.

About every other one, I'd post a big "FUCK YOU WARNER BROS" rant that would be there for about an hour until someone noticed. Very Happy

I never tried to play innocent about [i]why[/i] we were all suspended. It was what caused it that pissed me off. We were all technically breaking board policy when it came to language, subject matter, and such, but the thing was we were [i]all[/i] participating and having fun. Everyone ignored that board because it wasn't a popular show, didn't have a ton of people on it, and no one ever came there looking for info or anything. Then this person who had no business on the board throws a fit. :huh:

Whatever. It was fun while it lasted. All their boards started falling apart because they made this ridiculous rule about you're ONLY allowed to post about the television show the board is dedicated to. No "how was your weekend" or "what's your favorite food" posts or ANYTHING except talking about the show. Then at the top of the boards it says they're there for people to meet people and make friends. I dunno about you, but I think it's kinda hard to make friends when you're only allowed to talk about a television show.

Ah well, I still think it's funny how I was "suspended" until 2007. Just say the account is banned and be done with it.

I remember I used to haunt the AOL boards. Now those SUCK! Bunch of scary people on those goddamn things.

ff.net has an easier thing for submitting fics, but i still like mm.org better for some reason..

not to mention banning nc-17 fics is just stupid on ff.net's part.
