The Reason Why You Write What You Write...

I actually began writing just to put a character that I've had in my head ever since I was five on paper. Laughing

The first fanfic I put out with her in it is not as good as I would have hoped, but I believe I have improved since then. Plus, I have her character down pat, and I am thrilled to put her out in the open. She's been a part of me ever since I was little, so it's awesome to hear somebody say that "she's wicked awesome". ^_^

Plus it's good practice for when I write my own original stories.

why do i write fics?

I used to write anime fanfiction because it was the cool thing to do. Now-a-days I usually only write reflection essays on varios life topics which I rarely ever post, or crummy peotry which I think can sometimes sound deep and meaningful but is really prolly very bad.

Oh well... hmm... this has inspired me to go and post some of my bad poetry and essays. Maybe some poor unfortunate soul shall click on one of the link and be instanly horrified and dumbfounded...

In my small journey into fanfiction long ago, it was because of a dare. A very big dare that spun wildly out of control. Was talking to a friend (who wrote fanfiction in the particular genre, though I did not), said "haha, wouldn't this be a cool story *insert plot here*", to which it basically went like this

her: "Yeah! Except you should make it even weirder and put in so-and-so instead of what's his face"
me: "No."
her: "you should. It'd kick ass."
me: "You do it."
her: "I have my own story. You do this one."
me: "No, it's stupid."
her: "it's a good idea! Do it."
me: "I don't wanna."
her: "Come on, I wanna read it. We need more good stories instead of the same one written over and over. People would like this!"
me: "I'm not a good writer."
her: "Sure you are. It doesn't even have to be long. Just a couple chapters."
me: "It'll never stay that short if I start."
her: "I challenge you to write that plot replacing ____ with ____ and post it. I guarantee people will love it."

And it went on like that for awhile until I gave in because I was weak and bored and kinda liked my idea anyway. But I was right in that it didn't manage to stay a couple chapters. And unfortunately, she was right in that people did like it. Enough to beg for a sequel, which turned out even longer than the first one.

Then I wrote a few more things for a particular group she was a part of 'cause it was something to do. But about a year and a half ago all the groups and areas started to fall apart and collapse due to people moving on with their lives. And I quit writing 'cause I'm the type of person who is happy to keep the story in my head. If there's no one to read or if those people reading never say anything, I don't bother wasting my time. I know how the story turns out, I don't need it in writing.

What a horrible author I am. Razz

Anyway, usually I start writing when I have an iea in my head tha twon't just go away. Unfortunately most of the ideas burn out after awhile....

Because I get wierd, impossible ideas, like an abused Hiro (My only gravi fic) and I decide to write about it. Yeee.

And another thing... once a reviewer/commenter of mine said something like 'I was thinking about your fic the other day...'

I found it amazing that people think about what I write outside of the time whan they're reading it.

And so i write.

I write because to get my mind off of the trouble I'd gotten myself into before hand!...lol...

But really because I love mindless radom humor... And the world needs more of it... Very Happy

me too, in some way.

even though, in my fanfiction, i try and work in alot of the problems you would see in everyday life to keep things from becoming unrealistic.

the main reason i write fics? i love writing. simple as that ^_^
