They have TWO frontmen. What the Hell? It's like Avril using 3 guitarists. Where the Hell's the POINT?
Avril uses 3 because she sucks, nicely put. That Tele needs a better owner than her... _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Well now that's just excessively stupid. Quality over quantity, boys. Two pseudo-talented motherfuckers does not make one really talented one. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Neither Chester or Mike can do a thing right, so 1+1=s**t.
Avril has a weird formula to process. It goes like this:
1+1+1=3-1(one night together)=Rock career(guitarist 1)=short rock career(guitarist 2)
I shall break this down
Avril plus guitarist one(pretty boy) plus guitarist 2(not so pretty boy) equals three guitarists(all suck) minus guitarist 2(not so pretty boy leaving Avril and guitarist one(pretty boy) for one night together which equals guitarist 1 a full rock career, while leaving guitarist 2 with a short lived rock career.
I call it: "The Teenage Sexaholic Punk Wannabe Theorem".

Debate is good except when assholes try it. You very may well see some of them do that.
Good choice on rock.
Durst is a........how do I say this nicely..... stuck up petty son of a bitch who doesn't know any better than to rap about cookies and nookie he finds in his uptight little ass.
Durst can't rhyme to save his life, man. What the hell was up with that song, "Rolling", I think it was? Every lyric ended with the same f**ing word, and MTV just kept playing it and playing it.
Rock rules my life. Especially where I live, we gots lots of awesome local bands. Rubyhorse, Dropkick Murphys, Sed, lots of new stuff and old school. Support your local bands, people, they shall dominate the music business in a few years. |

Watch it, the ganstas will bust a cap in yo' ass. (is it just me, or is that saying itself really gay...? Not that there's anything wrong with that...)

Oh god no! NO! PLEASE NO! The world doesn't deserve to be subjected to the utter shit that kids pass off as "bands" around here. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Really? That bad?
I must be lucky. Boston has some great local bands. Just look at who we made: Aerosmith
Insult the Bad Boys of Boston and I shall be forced to duel with you.

Edit: I just had too many damn smilies in that post. |

I live in a psycho-christian town of 15,000 in Oregon. We're not raising any Steven Tylers around here. There's such a shortage of people that can remotely play an instrument, most kids (especially bass and drums) are in two or three bands. And they all still suck. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Okay yeah... I'm posting this here because placing it in the other topic will just make it go off topic.. so yeah here we go. This was in response to flea saying that all rappers have made it big with so little talent.
ALL RAPPERS
I agree with most of what you said, other than that.
How is it that all rappers do not have talent? Personally I can't start spitting out ryhmes. I can't keep with the beat for sh*t. So I imagine it takes some talent to accomplish what they do. And a lot of rappers come from little money and still manage to make something of themselves. I'm not saying all rappers come from the f*ckn ghetto so don't take it that way please. I don't see how it takes any less talent to rap than it does to "rock" or sing folk music.. or pop... You don't have to like rap, but to insult it and say it doesn't take any talent is going a little overboard. I can understand where you are coming from if you are only listening to what they overplay on the like.. top 40 radio station or whatever... but honestly.. not all rappers are like 50 cent. Most have talent.
I also consider coming from nothing, and making your way to fame and riches to be somewhat commendable. Considering how many people think they can rap now adays.. i would imagine it's hard to set yourself apart from the rest.
How do you think Jay-z is where he is now? You think it didn't take any talent to get where he is? The man has talent. Do me a favor and listen to his album Reasonable Doubt. Then go on about talent. Fame seems to have weakened his production quality though.... I'll admit that . He took chances and stuck with it to climb the ladder. Rappers aren't little f*ckn blonde girls with breat implants and nose jobs. They aren't handed deals and fame because they are pretty and can almost carry a tune. Give them a little more respect than placing them on a list with Hilary f*ckn prepackaged Duff.
And when I use Jay-z as an example, I'm speaking mainly of his early work that defined him and put him in the spotlight. Not sh*t like duets with Beyonce. And i use him as an example but there are others that you should listen to before you base your opinion on rappers like 50cent and f*ckn Nelly. Biggie Smallz, Talib Kweli, nas(back in the day.. not so much now)... You don't have to like them.. but give them some respect which they most certainly deserve. _________________ |

Layz, I mean it, too. I've heard most rap people love today, and I'm telling you, I've heard kindergarteners do the exact same thing. The rappers just change "Mary Had A Little Lamb" to "Mary Is A Little Ho". Besides, it's monotonus verse pretty muc 89% of the time. I can talk fast, I can rhyme.
Rap is NOT rapid rhyming and that's IT. Rap is RHYMING, period, to a beat. People can rap, but some won't be good. Axl Rose is a prime example.
The image isn't rap, it's original, but not rap. When the slaves created rapping(then, chants and rhymes) in the feilds, they wore poor clothing, or none at all.
It's rhyming to a beat. Whether you think that's true or not is not my issue.
Besides, most modern rappers suck ass, anyway. That comes from a listener who happens to be the one who forced me to listen to 50 Cent, Ludacris, DMX, and D-12.
It's like Inuyasha. It's the same as all the others, but no one notices. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

I thought Mother Goose or Dr.Suess invented rap...
Anyway, it's getting kind of old now, this will never end. It'll just continue in a never ending circle of comeback rants. Yet you all use the same damn arguement!
Think up of new reasons or stop ranting, it's getting kind of annoying you know ^_^ But opinions are opinions. Flea, your not going to change carter's mind at all, it's like trying to miss shooting pointblank at an elephant. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. Hmmm... me thinks you guys should create a new thread, and quit leeching your conversations on other threads |

Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo.
Whassup with this rap sucks stuff. This ain't no fair.
It's as fair as trying to teach an alligator how to grow some hair.
What you guys are doing, yo, this ain't right.
It's as right as DARKRAVEN1191 takin' flight.
So don't diss rap, or you'll have to answer to me.
I take you down faster than a rabbit that flees.

Rhyming is a skill, not necessarily a talent.
An interesting rhyme by Ruppy. I'll make note of that. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.
