So yeah what were your old fav Nintendo games?
Back on NES I used to play a couple. I was young so don't laugh at my choice in games.
IF ANYONE TURNS THIS INTO A FF PRAISE TOPIC I WILL BE MOST ANNOYED
-Monster Party- lame as hell but my mom bought it for my birthday... so i learned to like it.
Mike Tysons Punch Out - That game was just awesome. I loved the music.. the lil intermissions type scenes.. all the characters... I want that game again but I've never been able to find it around here.. maybe ebay.
Mario 1,2,3 - I used to always borrow #2 from a neighbor. I would play it for hours. #3 was my fav cuz he had his tail. :)
Castelvania - Flying medusa heads... god they were annoying. But the game was good Something happened to my copy... :(
Micro Machines - It came in a gold color cartridge another fav i played a lot.. it's hard to remember these damn games.
Festers Quest - Worst game ever... well not the worst.. but up there.. but my dad used to play it all the damn time. _________________ |

Ogre battle. It pwnz j00.
Castlevania Dracula X or Vampire's kiss. Because it's too difficult to play. The big dracula fight at the end, I must have fallen to my doom a hundred times.
Duck hunt! |

For super nintendo of course there was Contra 3 which I played way too much. Street Fighter II. I used to play Buster Busts Loose all the time. It was one of my favorites. The Lion King game... I played that a lot.
I never played sega much. We always stuck to nintendo. But when i played at a friends house it was always sonic. _________________ |

Oh man I remember jumping on the rockets fired from the helicopter in contra 3. You never see that kind of 1337 things anymore in games. |

lol.. jumpn from rocket to rocket.. I remember being really frustrated while trying to do that.. but it got way easy after awhile. I mainly remember that ugly brown alien thing that would like dig into the ground and pop up... or maybe it was him digging into the ceiling and jumping down..
Metroid That had to be my favorite NES game. I played it non stop. Maybe I'll get that too... thinking about these games is making me want them again Maybe i'll hook up my nintendo... _________________ |

Anyone ever played the game with the coolest title ever: ninja warrior, again ? Yes, 'again' is part of the title. that game pwnz!
And I'm going to mention it, because it just has to be said: MARIOKART! good times. I remember trying for hours to get out of the track, and drive to the mountains in the background And once I actually made it over the edge, and much to my surprise, I fell and was transported to the track again. |

I don't think I've played ninja warrior... but it reminds me of..... Ninja Gaiden the original. Those games were awesome. Never owned any of them but I used to play them with my brothers friend all the time.
Lexar how old are you? I ask because I'm curious if you were old enough to remember the NES days... I'm sure you are... but anyway. Do you recall that there Commadore 64 computer? I used to play tons of old sh*tty computer games on it. _________________ |

I'm 20 now, but I never played the NES that much back then. I do remember the biggest classics, mariobros and such. And the turtles! |

Zelda3 (link to the past) was great. Besides playing it way back, I played it emulated for like the last month of class in one of my second year classes.
Mario world was great too. My first game (never had nes and I'm not going to count attari) _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

MY favroties? Wait, this is the old nintendo system we're talking about right? Sorry but i use to ignore people when i was little and they'd call is nes or snes and s**t, i was very little then and didn't give a s**t other than kicking older people's asses on it and i did that very well
The first three castlevania games ever on nes. We had all three, my mom was a fan and thank god, my mom is sort of cool in that growing up, i'd spend my time late at night watching her play all these games with my brother. (when i was suppose to be in bed, hehe) and then of course on the weekends if she wasn't working the night shift, we'd stay up and she'd have me play with her. I have really good hand, eye cordination and i swear it's from all the games i've played. And no, i didn't sit infront of the tv all day. I was a pretty active child.
So yeah, the first three castlevania games on NES, loved them, grew up with them when i was 3--6 yr range. Yep, i was playing them when i was 3
the first three mario games ever on NES, my brother would get mad and throw the controls, which pisses me off. But i'd still beat him at this and many others
Zelda games for NES! (i think there were just two? well we had only two) Mom's fanorite, but it annoyed me, stilll does really but yeah i played it some........ moving on now....
SNES, gotta have the super mario world. I love it when kids get it for their gameboys and play it at school. They don't know how to play it, they would have all these people trying to get by one place <_< come on now i beat that things so many times! to bad it's been so long now that i forget were all the spots are to trip the secrets paths dammit.
Super mario kart, i'd piss my brother off so damn playing against him on this. My god how he busted those controllers up
Jurassic park, part 2 the choas continues thing. i f**king can't finish any of those missions! i've gone soft i always get right at the end and then i die piss me off. Good game though, i need to take breaks between playing it because i get frustrated but good game...
Zelda, got that one on ebay especially for mom when i found the nintendo on there too. lol. she loves zelda. i haven't played the one for SNES, i might have to later.
Castlevania IV, i don't remember what ones there are for SNES. So if you know of anymore for that game system, tell me! I love the vastlevania games. I haven't played any of them on sega or game cube 64 though. I f**king hate those game systems but if i had the money, i'd buy them just to play those games they made for them
Right now, i'm at the part in Castlevania where there are these huge swinging chandliers that you have to jump across, and if you fall, your dead, and you go through the ballroom with the falling chandliers, there's these floating women in red/orange dresses, and now and then a guy dressed up like michael jackson thats what he looks like to me! and these white glowing things floating around and following me. i keep dying because of those things. i forget if i can kill them or not. i'd smacked them a few times with the whip but they don't die so i'm guessing now? |

Contra was just about, like the best game ever for the SNES. I mean, it's the first side scroller that didn't just have levels all to side scrolling! I don't remember well, but I think it's the 2nd level where you got to play in an arial, bird's eye view. That was cool! Plus it had turtle bosses! Yay for pattern attacks and 0 AI!
I don't remember the name of the game, but it involved Mario and a Tetris/Dr. Mario style gameplay. You'd go head to head against either a computer or a second player. If you've ever played Pokemon Puzzle League (yes, I own this game and it's one of my favorite games on the N64 ) it's almost exactly like that. Except it involves Mario! Oh man, I used to play that game for so long against my mom and dad, it was great fun. We usually played this when we took time off from playing Contra 'cause we died too much But yeah, these are two of my fave games for the SNES. |

Ah, some of my old favorites:
NES:
- Super Mario 3. Super Mario 2 was cool, but the level design was absolutely stellar . . . there's that one level in World 7 (7-6 or something) where you spend the entire level grabbing invincibility powerups and running like hell across a gauntlet of those nippy pirahan plants. There's that one castle in World 7 with a room full of bricks, you hit the Switch Block and it simply becomes coin city, one of my favorite levels in the game ;)
- Legend of Zelda. Has some of the toughest Zelda dungeons ever (those invisible-one-way-doors are very annoying) But even more so, there's . . . .
- Legend of Zelda: Link's Adventure. Turning Zelda into a side-scrolling action/avdenture game have been a one-shot idea, but that game has some of the toughest bosses of the Zelda series, primarily Dark Link who is the final boss.
- Marble Madness. Short, but original and difficult.
SNES:
- Super Mario World. Gotta nominate the flagship title. One of my favorite levels is Special Zone 8 ("Funky") where you have to grab Yoshi and eat up all the green berries to extend the timer . . . if you let the timer hover around 100 (y'know, the point where the music speeds up), then the music will simply keep speeding up until it's impossible to listen to
- Super Mario All-Stars. Primarily because of the Lost Levels (aka japanese Mario 2) and Mario 3.
- Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. One of my most favorite Zelda games. Loved the music in it, the graphics, the fog-laden Lost Woods....
- Super Metroid: Very good side-scrolling action-shooter. Ridley was one of the coolest boss fights out there, and so was that Chozo Statue boss you had to fight just to get to him, how he sidesteps normal missiles and how he actually CATCHES the Super Missiles and throws them back at you! That's like . . . whoa.
- Secret of Mana. Real-time RPG combat kicks Final Fantasy any day of the week! Loved the boss music especially.
- Star Fox. Practically the first 3D game out there, with great music and some memorable boss fights. Like that, um, "boss" of the secret level.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

The only games I ever played on my Super NES were the Donkey Kong games and the Mario games.

Ah, a few more to mention:
Tetris & Dr. Mario (SNES). Two of the best puzzle-games in one cartridge? Plus two-player competition mode (versus human or AI) and I love the remix of the Dr. Mario "Fever" tune.
- Super Mario RPG (SNES). What do you expect when Mario does an RPG? This is where they introduced the idea of timed hits, and one of the first RPG's to utilize mini-games. Great music for the mini-games, and some pretty tough bosses like Jinx and the FF cameo, Culex. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

For Lasher: There is one more castlevania game for the snes, It's called Vampire's kiss in europe and dracula X in the US. It's a remake of the PCengine game Rondo of blood, but without the movies and the bonus character. One of the all time hardest castlevania games ever. Especially fighting dracula at the end. Try downloading it for an emulator, if you have a system above pentium one, 166 mhz it's very playable. |

Some games that either i played or my brother played on Nintendo.
Blades of Steel : Way too much time watching this game being played. My brother and is friend used to play it.
Double Dragon: Used to borrow from my brothers friend all the time. Wasn't one of my favs though.
Mega Man : I can't remember which number I used to play. I only ever really played one of them though... but I played it a lot.. once again at my brothers friends house... my parents never really bought us that many games..
The Track and Field game was fun with the running pad thing. I still have that pad... _________________ |
