Ever heard of Babelfish? A free, online, automatic translation service -- far from perfect, granted, but at least you'll be able to read it ;)
You're right, it's nothing personal to any non-English speakers, it's merely that the official language of this site is English, so that's what people are expected to use. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

This has probably been mentioned... but i'ma mention it again. I'm sick of kids asking for requests, and then being so f*cking impatient while waiting for them. First of all I'm flattered that anyone would ask me for a request.. so i'm not complaining about that... but after you ask me for it, and I agree.. DO NOT email me every 24 hours asking if it's done yet. That just gets ya ignored. _________________ |

'Least you don't have to deal with them in real life. "Oh Kaaaaaahla, is it done yet? Is it? Is it? Is it?" No, now go away.
Fanart Pet Peeve: When artists post big dramatic exits as they leave the site. "One more piccy and I'm leaving!" If it was so bad, you wouldn't bother posting anymore pictures and just leave. <_< _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Oh another piss off Got so many... aight..
When ya show your art to someone you know in 'real life', and they say something stupid like.. better than I could do. That is what my mother or father say if i show them a pic when they visit. Okay well I expect it to be better than what you can do considering you can't draw. Another comment I so appreciate... "oh that's nice".. Okay.. if you are just gonna spout out some non enthused comment then you obviously do not like it. So rather than say it's nice or it's better than what you can do... tell me what you don't like about it... or just tell me you straight up f*ckn hate it. Don't lie.
Same goes for people when I do a request for them. I work my ass off on requests I do. I don't think some of these people who ask for a request understand just how much work I put into it. I don't just quickly sketch and color something. It takes me at least a week to produce something that I will actually hand over to someone. And 80% of the time... I get a thanks... and that's it. Awesome for the thanks.. but usually if someone goes out of their way to draw something for ya.. you would like leave a comment saying just how much you appreciate it. _________________ |

When someone gives a really pointless comment. I mean some of these are just stupid. Take for example, the last comment that I recieved. It read as follows:
" O.o ....."
Gee, buddy, thanks for your insight. <_<
Man, how I hate the fact that the comment input window stays the same, even after you hit the submit button, for a long time, sometimes. But I bet you've heard this before, so I'll back off.
What you do then, before you hit the "Submit" button a second time, is you go back to the drawing page and hit Reload. If your comment shows up there, then it's been accepted.

My pet peeves...hmmm....My pet peeve is:
People who steal art.
people who write comments like "OMG THAT"S SUCH AN AWSOME PIC!!!!" on anime if it's a crappy pic of Yu gi oh or somthing.
I don't like people who ignore other forms like realism or other stuff besides anime.
I also hate people who only comment on fanart (yes I am aware that the name of this site is Fanart central), but come on people, what about the original stuff?
By the way I went to deviant art and put one of my pics up. Then I quickly went to recent subbmissions page. After looking at my pic for like 3 seconds, I clicked the refresh button and a whole nother group of pics was already up. So my point in all this I like the way fanart central does the approval thing. Well, that's all. |

My pet peeve is when people look at a picture and go "ewww, that's so gross!" Like, if there's nudity. If you don't want to look at nude people, than don't look at the picture. I mean, the website has it so that you can state what's in the picture. All a person has to do is look at the rating as to whether it's "G", "PG", and etc. Also if there's violence, gay acts, sex, or nudity. Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. |

(On the previous subject of the AP panel, I think it rocks! Not much ticks me off more than seeing stolen art, etc.)
I don't like it when people do the exact pose as from a scene in the manga or anime and don't say so because then people are all "wow thats so cool! I love the pose!" when the person didn't have neough originality to at least alter it in some way. I like it when people use other lanuages because, if they put up a translation (that's accurate) it helps people who are trying to learn the language. The people who post 1-minute scribbles...those annoy me...lots...But if they were really trying their best, and it still looks like a really quick sketch, but it took longer, its okay. Looking back on the earlier pictures I've done and posted here, I can see how much I've improved, simply because I figured if I could get better, I'd get more comments. I think FAC is so great because you can learn things from everyone, so maybe those who aren't so good at drawing are trying to get some tips, etc. So I can deal with them... BUt actually, I think its more of the type of comments people leave than the art itself that really bothers me. |

Not to be rude.. Because I know in America and Basically anybody in the Netherlands and UK and other places are intitled to there own opinions.... But I hate how people with sh*tty artwork get like a million comments just because everyone likes them and great artists with few friends on this sithe get none. And I hate how good clean kidfriendly artwork never getcomments while Hentai and Nude pics get alot.
Don't get me wrong...I like hentai. I just don't understand why they get more than clean pics. |

I really, REALLY hate people who steal, whether it's fanart or fanfiction. Over on www.fanfiction.net, i've had people try passing off my fic "Escape the Scent" off as their own. I'm lucky that the small circle of fans that I have recognized it and reported it. Other people, who may not be so fortunate to have fans that recognize and respect their works probably fall prey to plagerists and then it's the plagerists that get all the attention/reviews/etc.
Spam artists really tick me off. When I pull up an image to view it, I wanna see some effort. It doesn't have to have color, just show that a minimum of... say, 10-15 minutes went into the thing! Anyone with the IQ of a fart can draw a smily face and stick it on the internet, but it takes a real artist to put their best efforts on paper and then post it on the web. I'm not the best artist in the world; hell, I'm terrible with shading and lighting effects! But the truth is that I put my thoughts, ideas, and best effort into every art piece that I intend to submit. It may not be a masterpiece to everyone, but I post with the hope that someone enjoys seeing it as much as I enjoyed working on it.
Copiers irritate me. I like seeing original poses and situations for all copyrighted characters. I was actually mad at copiers at the time that I did that Shaman King picture of Kororo in my gallery. When I made it, I thought to myself, "not too many people do pictures of this character, and whatever has been done of her is 'copied' so let me try something different."And that's what I did. I wish everyone who drew would try different poses and situations with the characters. Seeing the same thing over and over again bores me.
Spam comments irritate me. Don't like my pictures? Tell me why! Tell me how I can improve! Tell me something constructive! It's nice and all when someone says "OH I LUV UR PIC!", but let's face it, that doesn't help me improve on any future images that I may attempt.
While somewhat irksome, the whole "waiting to be approved" thing is a great idea IMO. While some artwork that many of us would consider 'spam art' does get approved, imagine how much more spam art would actually get onto the site without the approval system. And let's not forget that it's real, flesh and blood people that are approving these pictures by hand, not just a computer. Large quantities of appreciation to the staff that run the site are most definitely due.
Hmm.... this thread seems quite full of aggression and turmoil. I think I'm gonna go now before someone targets me! |

Of course, everything almost everyone has said annoys me, but then again, the doodles do tend to get on people's nerves. As do whiny children that seem to not realize how much work the Mods put into the Approval panel... I don't even know, but it must be a pain. Especially when no one appreciates you for it, so thank you! ^_^
Hope that makes you feel better, because that's the best I have, so far. What I hate is when people use someone's art to argue with each other. Or when people hate a character so much they go out of their way to get the people who like that character. That my friend is a new defintion of creepy.
But I wonder how much time those people have... Do they sit there waiting for people who like a cerain character to come on and then send their flames of doom? Or better yet, do they sit there and wait for their art to come on refreshing and killing there eyes with their nose to the screen? I fear we will never know... _________________ If I was anymore hardcore, I'd be arrested. |

I hate it when people say "Wow, great picture! What program did you use? I need that program!!!~" like it'll magically transform their art into something magnificent.
A lot of people seem to think that Photoshop is the Holy Grail or something- it won't make your art suddenly brilliant, people. Not unless you have a solid grounding in colour theory and good linework to begin with!

Of course I think everyone finds that annoying
that gdoes seem to annoy me a lot though, or when they only comment on the picture because they like the character... But you have to expect that from rabid fangirls. What annoys me is when fangirls act like immature little five year olds...
Back on topic, fanart pet peeves are basically what other people are saying, but I'm starting to get sick of all the Original characters... Not if it's for a story you made up completely on your own, but for Yu Yu Hakusho or InuYasha or something, I think there are more original characters in the Yu Yu Hakusho section than there are of real drawings..... _________________ If I was anymore hardcore, I'd be arrested. |

They irritate me too, and I say so. In a friendly manner, of course. Something to the tune of "you should try doing original poses for this guy", usually.
Spam comments irritate me. Don't like my pictures? Tell me why! Tell me how I can improve! Tell me something constructive!
I have been very tempted to start removing spam comments from my pictures. Wholesome comments always get to stay, of course, but things like fangirl raves and off-topic "will you do requests?" -- I might just start deleting them when a wholesome comment is dropped on the pic.
A lot of people seem to think that Photoshop is the Holy Grail or something
It's envy, pure and simple, because they can't do the same. I know I can't do the same with any form of Photoshop, I have no patience for computer drawing. Ironic then that I'm perfectly comfortable to spend 2-4 hours working on a single drawing by hand... I guess it's that holding a mouse just isn't the same as holding a pencil in your hand.
Now, a digitizer pad on the other hand, with a pen-shaped stylus, I could probably get used to . . . don't mind me, I'm just dreaming.

FAC, on average, gets about 300 pictures approved per day. Most of which occurs during daylight hours, USA time.

Agreed. It seems that everybody has a Sonic-ized version of themselves floating around in their gallery (a generalization, I know). It's nothing personal against any individual one of them (unless that's ALL they draw, you never know), it's more the hundreds of artists dreaming up over hundreds total in original characters....
Ever wish that there was no such thing as Anime or Manga? Wow, that's a lot. Some of those whiny kids should see that, it'll do wonders for their whiny comments.

I know! Everyone has their own Sonic character, well, at least a lot of people I've seen. And I do sometimes wish that Anime/Manga didn't exist... But I kind of incorporated it in to my schedule. ^_^ Kind of sad isn't it? _________________ If I was anymore hardcore, I'd be arrested. |

Hey, denis, I just got some ideas for stuff that could be on the Site Stats page:
- Record # of pictures submitted/approved in one day
- Average # of pictures submitted per day (e.g., total pictures site age, average of past week, etc.)

I absolutely HATE when I get a comment like this:
That was good, can you draw me as_____?
or
That was good, look at my art now.
Blurg, sorry, in a pissy mood.
